Mighty Castle Adventure - A Castlevania fan game for the Amstrad CPC! (+DEMO)

Castlevania has been featured many times on Indie Retro News, which is no surprise as pretty much every game in the series going right back to the first game can be picked up and enjoyed by all. But here's another update you might like to know about if you love this classic game series. As we have been told that yogtze has not only finished the Castlevania game for the Amstrad CPC called 'Mighty Castle Adventure' but they are now taking pre-orders ; a game that can be seen in the video provided by Yogtze.

Castlevania is still coming to the Sega Master System and here's some cool footage and a demo!

Castlevania has been featured many times on Indie Retro News, from my personal favorite 'Castlevania Spectral Interlude' on the ZX Spectrum, to Dante's upcoming Castlevania AGA for the Commodore Amiga. But here's another update you might like to know about if you love this classic game. As we have been told that Xfixium, who is also behind the Golden Axe Tyris Edition, is still working on bringing Castlevania over to the Sega Master System! In light of this news, we have some brand new footage of the game and further info from Xfixium and Louis The Sega Nerd who is doing the audio.

GothicVania - A Castlevania inspired work in progress game for the Amiga

Amiten Games upcoming Castlevania inspired game called 'GothicVania' has been updated with a new 2026 preview that can be downloaded right now. A new preview that features some of the levels within the main game, as well as many of the baddies that you'll have to deal with. Do beware however one of the levels does feature a lot of screen flashing, which may be too much for some of our light sensitive readers (me included).

Catslevania - Thelen's upcoming Castlevania game for the Atari XL/XE VBXE looks stunning!

Here we are with another shout out for this classic game called Castlevania, as I have been informed through Facebook, that Thelen is still working on a pretty stunning looking Castlevania game for the Atari XL/XE VBXE called Catslevania. A new version of the game, that looks graphically superior since its first tease way back in 2022. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a new gameplay video which gives us another look at this early development!

Castlevania AGA - Castlevania for the Commodore Amiga by Dante Retro Dev gets an overhaul!

Castlevania has been a highlight for us on IndieRetroNews, especially with a number of clones being released and my personal favorite of Castlevania Spectral Interlude on the ZX Spectrum. Well, one game that's getting another mention however, is Dante Retro Dev's awesome Scorpion Engine developed game of Castlevania AGA. A reimagined port of the 1986 original but with visuals inspired by Castlevania Chronicles and other non-8 bit titles in the series. So why is this game getting another mention? Well, thanks to AmigaFrance giving me the heads up, you can now download a big overhaul of the game in celebration of Commodore Amiga's 40th anniversary!

Castlevania AGA - Castlevania for the Commodore Amiga is feature complete!

Castlevania is certainly a game worth mentioning on Indie Retro News, especially with games mentioned such as the Castlevania 30th anniversary NES facelift, Intellivision, and even the incredible Castlevania Spectral Interlude on the ZX Spectrum. Well today's news is something special indeed, as thanks to the developer Dante Retro Dev announcing the update on EAB, he has said that the Scorpion Engine created Castlevania AGA, is now feature complete! To coincide with this news, we've got some footage of the game, and the full list of additions/changes below the video.

Anzu Castle Gracula - A nod to Castlevania for browser play and MS-DOS by RainbowCemetery


If you have an old computer running MS-DOS, an emulator, or just prefer playing through your browser at work ;), then you might be interested to know a developer by the name of RainbowCemetery has released a new DOS game called  ' Anzu Castle Gracula '. A game that started off with qbasic, then became a full game as a nod to Castlevania! To coincide with this late hour news story, Saberman has provided a short gameplay video.

Doomed Castle (AMIGA) - Another Castlevania fan game appears and this one looks good!

Even more Amiga goodness to start the week! As if you have a Commodore Amiga at hand, an Amiga Mini, or an emulator installed, then at some point in the near future, you'll be able to play this awesome looking Castlevania fan game that's in development called 'Doomed Castle' by M.A.Soft team. A game that features not just high end graphics, but an in-depth UI screen, enemies to defeat and so much more you'll just have to see below this exclusive footage provided by Toni Galvez.

GothicVania - A rather impressive Castlevania inspired Tech Demo for the Amiga

Here on Indie Retro News we've certainly had our fair share of Castlevania fan games! We've had the more recent release of Maria Renard's Revenge and the in-dev Akumajou Dracula AGA for the Amiga. Well here we are with yet ANOTHER Amiga news story, as Saberman was kind enough to let us know earlier today, that he has done a new video of the rather lovely looking Castlevania inspired Demo of 'GothicVania'; A tech demo which has been created using Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine.

Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the Sega Mega Drive is looking pretty impressive!

In 1997/8 Konami released the incredible action platformer of Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the PlayStation and Saturn: a game that had impressive visuals gaining widespread acclaim as one of the best video games of all time, such as gameplay innovations, atmosphere, and soundtrack. Well if you remember this fine game and still hold it in high regard even today, will be interested to know that Pigsy has taken it upon themselves to back-port the 32-bit epic to a 16-bit system, namely the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis.

Well here we are with another shout out for this classic game series, as Saberman has informed us that Thelen has released an update to his work in progress Castlevania game for the Atari XL/XE called Castlevania VBXE. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a new gameplay video which gives us another look at this early development!

IntelliVania - Welcome to Castlevania for the Intellivision!

As many of you are aware by now Matthew Kiehl is not only bringing the classic game of Prince of Persia to the Intellivision, but also as we've mentioned previously Mega Man 2. Well if you've been following our posts and remember us also featuring IntelliVania; which is Castlevania built from the ground up for the Intellivision by the same creator Matthew Kiehl. You'll be overjoyed to know, that as of just recently after appearing as a boxed edition some time ago, you now purchase the digital download of the game at the link below.

But today news, thanks to another heads up by the creator, we've been shown some brand new footage of the upcoming Castlevania game 'Akumajou Dracula AGA'; An in development AGA Amiga version which is in the works by Dante Retro Dev!

But today thanks to another heads up by Saberman, we've been told the Castlevania prototype, which the developer is calling 'Akumajou Dracula AGA' and using Earok's Scorpion Engine. Has recently been updated with the "Vampire Killer" soundtrack; a change which features great Paula 4 channels rendition by the talented musician Estrayk/Capsule^Scoopex, based on the original by Satoe Terashima.

But today thanks to a heads up by Dante 3d dev who is also behind the upcoming Arcade to Amiga conversion of Green Beret, he has released an early prototype of what looks to be an in development Castlevania AGA which is based around the version released on the SHARP X68000!

IntelliVania - Castlevania on the Intellivision and it's available for order

As many of you are aware by now Matthew Kiehl is not only bringing the classic game of Prince of Persia to the Intellivision, but also as we've mentioned previously Mega Man 2. Well if you've been following our posts and remember us also featuring IntelliVania; which is Castlevania built from the ground up for the Intellivision by the same creator Matthew Kiehl, will be overjoyed to know that you can now order the game as a lovely boxed edition!

Vampire Slayer Demo - Castlevania engine on the ZX Spectrum by Pat Morita Team

But today thanks to a heads up by Andy Godoy, we've been told that if you are a fan of Castlevania and have a ZX Spectrum, you can now try out the latest demo of Vampire Slayer ; a Castlevania engine from the Mojon Twins' MK1 Churrera to show just how powerful it can be for the speccy!

Well today's news is something special indeed, as thanks to a heads up from DSOGaming, we've been told Edward Findlay has finally released his free fan remake of Konami’s Castlevania 2 on the PC(Win), called Simon’s Quest Rebitten!

IntelliVania - Castlevania on the Intellivision and it's coming this year!


As many of you are aware by now Matthew Kiehl is not only bringing the classic game of Prince of Persia to the Intellivision, but also Mega Man 2 and one of my favourite games of all time on the NES, with Castlevania. In fact it is Castlevania(IntelliVania) which is back in the news, as thanks to a heads up in our twitter feed from Liqmatrix, we've been told the game not only has a trailer, but much better screenshots inclusive of boxed edition details and a 2020 release date!
