If you've never heard of Super Mario Kart, then I guess you were living in a cave, as this game series which first appeared in 1992 on the SNES, was one of the most addictive arcade style racing games ever to appear on a TV screen. So to see someone try to create a Mario Kart like experience on the Amiga certainly caught my interest! Welcome to Micro Karting, an ever improving proof-of-concept to see if a 3D-ish kart racing game can be done on Amiga AGA without cheating.

3D engine for Amiga A1200 as a Spyro The Dragon tech demo, impresses the Amiga scene!
Even though I was rather late with this news update as a bad headache got in the way, but if you have a Commodore Amiga 1200 and want to try something out, that looks very impressive, especially as it is running on a stock original A1200 with just 4Mb FastRam, then make sure to check out this 3D engine for an Amiga A1200 as a Spyro The Dragon tech demo by Rst7/CBSIE. As in the words of one our Commodore Facebook members "prepare to be wowed" and "incredible".

Blask - First person shooter Amiga tech preview update
The Predator appears on the Atari XL/XE as a Tech Demo!
It's incredible to think one of the greatest movies of all time 'Predator' was viewed on our screens all those years ago in 1987, with multiple retro gaming ports of the same movie appearing on both the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, BBC Micro, Commodore 64, Electron and even the ZX Spectrum. Well one such system sadly didn't get a look in, the Atari XL/XE, but thankfully Gonzo was able to show what it would look like on that system as he had created a Predator Preview Tech Demo.
Blask - First person shooter Amiga tech 2 demo update
It's a Monday which means it's time to start writing retro news, and for the first piece of news here's a new Amiga tech 2 demo called 'Blask (eng. Shine?, Glow?, Glare?)', or as its previous name 'Alien Enemy: Dangerous Alien', which is a new improved demo with updated movements. To coincide with this news for what still looks like a very early work in progress first person shooter, not only has Saberman done a gameplay video, but you can download the AMOS test version below!
Impossible Mission - Atari XL/XE conversion of a famous game gets a tech demo
Not to be confused with Mission Impossible, of which I have done many times in the past, but we have recently been told by Saberman that Impossible Mission has appeared on the Atari XL/XE as a tech demo by Gonzo. This game was originally released on multiple systems in the 80's including the Amstrad, C64 and ZX Spectrum, and puts you in control of a secret agent infiltrating an enemy stronghold.

Titled "Lindwendture Project" in a Lucasfilm style design, the developer today has released a tech footage which shows scripting such as door opening and female character mood changes every three seconds. What the footage doesn't show is any form of gameplay implementation in this development version
Maldita Castilla - Ghost'n'Goblins homage demo'd on the Megadrive!
In 2012 Locomalito released Maldita Castilla for the PC which was a fantastic arcade platformer homage to Ghost'n'Goblins, and many others while taking influences from medieval paintings and places, and inspired by the best chivalry book ever: The Amadis of Gaul. It was indeed one of the finest retro inspired games I have ever played, but what if I was to tell you there has been a demo released which works on the Sega Megadrive? Well here it is, Maldita Castilla on the Sega Megadrive!
