Simon : 2015 Flashlights - Winning wild C64 compo entry

This C64 release came out really late for UK residents but that doesn't mean it's any less good, as it's from none other than our friends, Genesis Project. Created by Flashlights as a wild winning compo entry from the Swedish party Gerp 2015, 'Simon' is their latest arcade game that doesn't just have a great soundtrack, but it's probably one of the most difficult games we've played this year on a C64

With graphics by DSKAR, music by Warlock - Connect 9600 and coding by Connect 9600, Simon is a fun but highly difficult game in which you need to make a large set of coloured crosses in a square to get a high enough score to get to the next level. This is done by touching the squares at the bottom, dragging a line across and then back to the edge to make a coloured pattern. The difficulty however, is to do with the enemies as they are very fast flowing from across the screen, that when touched or if they touch your white line, it's an instant death.

For me it's a fun game yet a little frustrating due to the enemy amount and speed. But what I really did like is the excellent cracktro design, both the soundtracks ( Cracktro + Main game ) and it's completely free to download and play today!
