Puzzle Bobble on the Amstrad CPC - Novabug gives us an exclusive Video review as a release is due today!

Teased back on February on this very site, the much awaited Amstrad CPC arcade port of Puzzle Bobble will not only be released at some point today, but to get you excited prior to the BIG release thanks to Crazy Piri who sent us the game, I have an exclusive review video to show you which can be viewed below in glorious 8bit. Puzzle games on the Amstrad are sort of a specialty for the system, it can really shine with these types of games.

Puzzle Bobble is another to join that impressive list with its arcade roots faithfully presented, massive use of glorious colour, a varied and nostalgic soundtrack and of course, it’s highly addictive gameplay. With 100 levels it’s got a lot of playtime in its locker also. Yes, puzzle games are part of the fabric of the CPC and this is one of the finest embroideries on that comforting garment. The people at Crazy Piri have lovingly recreated the full arcade experience on the Amstrad. With Bub and Bob being reborn on the CPC by CNG Soft a few years back with Bubble Bobble 4 CPC, it’s lovely to see them back in their addictive puzzling side-show.
