Do we have a treat for you today, as Suminell Studios has announced the development of a ZX Spectrum styled shoot em up in a similar style to R-Type, Gradius and Nemesis for both Android and iOS based devices! Hopefully available at some point this year, 'Z-Exemplar' as the developer calls it, will take the greatness of our shoot em up past with bright, bold 8-bit pixels and blast it's way through an epic mission to conquer a galaxy of almost 1000 planets!
From the very beginning in it's early stage of development, Indie Retro News has kept a keen eye on Z-Exemplar as everything about the game is looking so spot on to what a ZX Spectrum shoot em up is all about. It has the graphics of a ZX Spectrum title, the playability of the original R-Type, multiple enemy types, weapon upgrades and the blasting frantic action that could well challenge you through the ages.
But with all great news comes disappointment. We don't know when the game will be released as it's still work in progress, nor do we know of all the features the game will contain. But rest assured as soon as we know more, we will again give you the big heads up!
