To say I'm overjoyed right now is an understatement, as we've just learnt of the recent news that ' Master of Orion '; the incredible 4x space strategy game from 1993 and released by Microprose, which is getting a reboot called ' Master of Orion : Conquer the Stars '. Has just had a brand new reveal, showing a star-studded cast of acting talent who have leant their voices to the game’s galactic inhabitants!
This time developed by WarGaming.net, will feature more modern graphics, a new orchestral score by MOO's original composer, as well as alien races with more personality with the voice talents of Mark Hamill (Star Wars Saga) in addition to Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Kat Cressida (Haunted Mansion), Dwight Schultz (Babylon 5), and Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street)!
But wait there's more, as according to Bluesnews explorers will be able to get a head-start on mastering Orion with Early Access by purchasing the Collector's Edition of Master of Orion on February 26 via Steam and GOG.com, retailing at €45.99. Included in this version are the first three legendary Master of Orion titles, retro pixel ship skins, a beautifully detailed digital art book, modernized orchestral soundtrack by the original composer of the Master of Orion series and an exclusive new race only available in the Collector’s Edition: the Terran Khanate.
Now you can see why I'm excited, could this be the Master of Orion we've been waiting for all these years since the original? Only time will tell!
