International Amiga Day - May 31st 2016

How quick the years pass as once again it is time to celebrate ' International Amiga Day ' which is held every 31st May in celebration of Jay Miner who, according to Gyorgy Dragon, was the father of the Amiga and today is his birthday! Amiga owners and Emulation users across the globe will be once again playing original Amiga games, fixing the original hardware and even giving the old girl a new look with a spruced up paint job. In fact this International Amiga Day, is even more worthy of celebration as not only did we see the release of the beastly accelerator the A600 Vampire II for the Amiga 600, but also a Kickstarter success for the 'New AMIGA 1200 Cases (Made From New Molds)' by Philippe Lang.

But of course there was more to celebrate as we also had more homebrew games, musical treats by Aaron White and tons of Amiga CD32 conversions by none other than Earok and Amiga Jay. What a fantastic year 2015-2016 has been so far, especially with my growing collection video above! But with great celebration came sadness as from 2015-2016, the creator behind the International Amiga Day - Gyorgy Dragon, and Dave Needle the Amiga Co-Founder & Atari Lynx Co-Inventor passed away :(

And on that note, make sure to join the biggest Amiga group on Facebook 1) Commodore Amiga
