The original hit Doom was developed by id Software way back in 1993 as a first person shooter playing as a space marine fighting hordes of demons and the undead in order to survive. But now a team by the name of Calavera Studio has released a short tribute to that famous game, but this time as a 2D action platformer called ' Mini DOOM'. Developed using Game Maker Studio, you must collect keys and battle your way through 5 stages using classic Doom weapons and power ups against enemies just as you remember them from the original Doom.
When I first saw this game without playing I thought here we go another fan game based on a famous classic but lacking in the gameplay department, but how wrong I was. Mini DOOM is one seriously cool indie game with a Doom flavour. Everything about the game apart from it being in 2D and not a first person, screams bloody Doom! It has the sounds, the music, the weapons and lots of splashing giblets which make this a very recommended download for not just those of you who played the original game but those of you who want to be blasting enemies at work. So download it now, it's cool!
