Sonic The Hedgehog on the SNES looks seriously cool!

In the early 90's I had the pleasure of playing the mind blowing platformer Sonic the Hedgehog on both the Sega Megadrive and Sega Master System. A game by Sega which featured a ring collecting blue hedgehog that could spin, run, jump and roll about at the fastest of speeds in a battle against the main antagonist Doctor Eggman, plus a number of other menacing enemies throughout each level. Now I'm sure many of you remember playing this fantastic game and probably still playing it to this day, but what you probably didn't know that as of today you can download an early look at an in development Sonic The Hedgehog engine which is being created for the SNES by TiagoSC.

Looking mighty impressive indeed in the video above, not only does the creator say that this is a "Sonic" engine for the SNES based on the Sega Genesis code but with many things optimized for SNES. But it has several bugs to fix, including sound, it's not ready yet, and it was also thanks to everyone at SonicRetro for the excellent disassembly of the original games and for the guides of the original engine.
