Sonic The Hedgehog looks impressive on the Amiga as a tech demo by RetroRic

Well this is a bit of a shocker and one I didn't think I'd be writing up on Christmas Eve. As that legendary game character Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog, which appeared on multiple systems, has appeared as a pretty impressive tech demo by RetroRic for the Commodore Amiga. An almost complete level 1 of Mega Drive Sonic the Hedgehog, in both 32 colour and 16 colour versions requiring any Amiga  with 2 MB chipram! To find out more read on :)

Do we have some great retro gaming news for you, as that legendary game character Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog game series, which appeared on multiple systems such as the Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive, and Sega Game Gear. Will be coming to the Commodore Amiga 500 1mb, and Commodore Amiga 1200 with the hard work of Reassembler , the same creator who released the vastly superior version of the OutRun Amiga Edition. Sonic GX - HOT NEWS as Sonic the Hedgehog has arrived on the Amstrad GX4000 and Amstrad Plus!

When I was a youngster I had the pleasure of playing the fantastic platformer of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Megadrive. A game which featured a ring collecting blue hedgehog, that could spin, run, jump and roll about, at the fastest of speeds in a battle against a number of menacing enemies and the main antagonist Doctor Eggman. So why is this game getting an mention on IndieRetroNews? Well, I've just been told by Xyphoe, that Norecess and team has released the impressive Amstrad GX4000 and Plus conversion of Sonic the Hedgehog.

In the early 90's I had the pleasure of playing the great Sonic the Hedgehog on both the Sega Megadrive and the Sega Master System. A game by Sega which featured a ring collecting blue hedgehog that could spin, run, jump and roll about at the fastest of speeds in a battle against other enemies and the main antagonist Doctor Eggman. Well if you too remember playing any of the classic Sonic games, it might be worth checking out the latest fan game of Sonic Omens. An incredible game that provides the players with its own take on the reason why Chaos Emeralds are no longer used in the recent official Sonic games, turning it into its main story!

Sonic the Hedgehog Time Twisted - A high grade Sonic fan game, finally gets a release!


Do we have some great retro gaming news for you, as that legendary game character Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog game series, which appeared on multiple systems including the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear, has appeared in an all new high grade fan game as 'Sonic the Hedgehog Time Twisted', which has finally been released. Developed using GameMaker Studio, this latest fan game is modelled after Sonic CD, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and features a new story in which you need to collect Chaos Emerald and Time Stones to stop Metal Sonic from resurrecting his creator.

SEGA classic Sonic the Hedgehog on the NES as a hack gets an improvement patch


Good afternoon you lovely people have I got some great news to brighten up your day! Remember last month when I announced with a big article, SEGAs classic Sonic the Hedgehog but released on the NES as a hack by JABU. Well you'll be pleased to know after some negative feedback regarding the music, not only has there been a music improvement patch done by Ti, but there has also been a graphical enhancement done by exactly the same person.

Through all these years of playing on old consoles and computers with some of the very best and worst games developers had to offer, there's always something out there that I've never heard of before. Thus here we are with the classic and well loved Sonic the Hedgehog, but this time it isn't on any SEGA device, but on the NES as an improved and more playable HACK version in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Zippy The Porcupine - Sonic The Hedgehog on the Atari 2600? WOW!


In the early 90's I had the pleasure of playing the mind blowing platformer Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Megadrive. A game by Sega which featured a ring collecting blue hedgehog that could spin, run, jump and roll about at the fastest of speeds in a battle against the main antagonist Doctor Eggman, plus a number of other menacing enemies throughout each level. It even had a number of spin offs too which made it such a hit with so many people across the world! So you may be pleased to read of a Sonic The Hedgehog clone, which in 2013 was announced in development on the Atari 2600 by Sprybug.

Blaze - A Sonic the Hedgehog inspired Amiga game you've got to see!


Another top quality find this month by a member of the EAB forums, s2325, is the 1993 Amiga platform game of Blaze, which was inspired by that well known grand classic of Sonic the Hedgehog, but was never actually released. Written in 68000 assembly language for the Amiga 500 by keithbugeja and sourced by the same developer, who had found this game from his surviving stash. Has finally made the alpha available for the public, after converting the ADF some years back.
