Return to Monkey Island - The follow-up to a classic Adventure series shows off LeChuck!

The Secret of Monkey Island developed by Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts) was originally released in 1990 and created by now industry legends Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman. It was a game that has lived on in the hearts of many retro gamers across the globe and is still played by both the young and old even today. Well if you remember Monkey Island and have been keen to see what the upcoming sequel is like called 'Return to Monkey Island', then as of today Gilbert's Terrible Toybox studio, in collaboration with Devolver Digital and Lucasfilm Games has teased the first look at the evil pirate LeChuck.

Banter with old friends and new faces on familiar islands now under dangerous new leadership. Then, take to the high seas and explore the new and unknown as you work your way out of tough predicaments. Clever puzzles, bizarre situations, and devastating ripostes are all that stand between Guybrush and glory. So yes if you are a fan of the Adventure genre and loved playing The Secret of Monkey Island all those years ago on the Amiga, PC or other, you may just like this upcoming game of 'Return to Monkey Island'.

    1. There will be a pixel mod for the game and all pixel fans will be not happy, again.

  5. Oh dear baby Jesus, it looks worse and worse. What the hell do these guys think? I don't mind a change in style but this just looks plain ugly, there is absolutely no aesthetic appeal in it. It looks like a real bad example of outsider art (art brut).

  6. I will safely pass on this one. Don't like the artwork at all.

  7. I'm trying to be optimistic about the story and developments of the relationships between Guybrush and Elaine. Le Chuck and Guybrush. Will there be a secret weapon that Le Chuck is attempting to learn how to use on Monkey Island? Will Elaine try to build a settlement there, become governor again?

  11. First Monkey Island is in my "all time top 5" and I love the second one also. Third was ok and fourth lost my interest in the beginning. I don't talk about Telltale's crap.

And this... I just wish they would let this monkey rest in peace. And yeah, art style is a total turn off.
