T.R.S.I. The Red Serpent Invasion - An Interactive Competition C64 Demo for the Evoke demo scene party looks damn impressive!

Throughout the years we've featured many different types of news stories, from gaming updates, to music disks and even scene demos. Well here with another eye opening news story I think you'll like, as if you have a Commodore 64, you really should check out the latest release of the T.R.S.I. The Red Serpent Invasion scene demo; An Interactive Competition entry for the Evoke demoscene party that doesn't just run smoothly ( It's really impressive ), but it also features texture walls, scalable sprites, and some would say is a very fine Wolfenstein 3D clone...Although it's still just an interactive demo.

The gameplay starts at 3:00.

The T.R.S.I. The Red Serpent Invasion entry is a pretty incredible feat for the C64, as although it looks like it could be the next best thing from my perspective, but those that have tried it have said not just  "F*** amazing for a standard C64. Saw it on the livestream. Screen Design reminds a bit of Last Ninja - but in an amazing way! Amazing smooth 3D Doom like game! Incredible work! C64 rulez =)" but also "That's some sick ***.. Looking forward to the first actually playable raycaster on c64. And it even has the chainsaw! 8)" . So yes if you have a C64, turn it on, load up the interactive demo and be amazed!

    1. Consider it done. The plan was to release the full game at Evoke, but dayjobs ruined the plan. We still tried to meet the deadline and give you at least something usable. There will be also a comfortable level editor for Windows - although it´s still in the making. Cheers, movax^trsi

  3. It should be noted that TRSI is an acronym for "Tristar & Red Sector, Inc.," and they cleverly reused the letter for the name of the demo!

  4. It moves like Catacombs-3D, an even earlier Id game...very impressive although I doubt an actual game will be possible without using a memory upgrade like Sonic.

    C64 is best.

  5. With full music, sound and a decent FPS on a C64? What is this wizardry? We'd all be typing on C-64(bit) systems right now if this had come out in 83. Ha!

  7. Wow! That is the first time I've actually seen it this well made on a C64! The ZX Spectrum already has amazing first person shooters -- the C64 now finally has the chance to join! :3 Please make this into a full game! My gosh this could be *IT*.
