This week we have been flooded with awesome Amiga games, so to change all that, here's the latest update from Jimbo, his newest of WIP creations for the Commodore C64 called ' Escape from PETSCII Castle'. A Wolfenstein 3D inspiration from the same creator who released other games on different systems such as PETSCII Bros, PET Panic!, PET Space Invaders 2 and TREKWAR. T.R.S.I. The Red Serpent Invasion - An Interactive Competition C64 Demo for the Evoke demo scene party looks damn impressive!

Throughout the years we've featured many different types of news stories, from gaming updates, to music disks and even scene demos. Well here with another eye opening news story I think you'll like, as if you have a Commodore 64, you really should check out the latest release of the T.R.S.I. The Red Serpent Invasion scene demo; An Interactive Competition entry for the Evoke demoscene party that doesn't just run smoothly ( It's really impressive ), but it also features texture walls, scalable sprites, and some would say is a very fine Wolfenstein 3D clone...Although it's still just an interactive demo.

Wolfenstein/RPG engine previewed on the Amstrad CPC

This isn't something you see every day, a new engine previewed on the Amstrad CPC, and not just any engine either, the classic 1992 ID Software's 'Wolfenstein' or in the case of this engine, Wolfenstein/RPG created by Optimus. This preview gives us a first hand look of what the developer had planned in a game but never finished last year; a smooth dungeon crawler with free movement, which can be regarded as a pre-alpha state.

LAB - Free FPS inspired by retro classics!

To be honest I'm not a fan of modern day first person shooters, such as Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty, but I really enjoyed those retro types such as Wolfenstein, Blake Stone and the classic Doom. So it came as a surprise to us to learn of a new free first person shooter, that is inspired by those classics but has you escaping a LAB, fighting your way through a pack of mutants who react aggressively to anything that moves or doesn't. This is ' LAB ', developed by mutantleg, which is available to play online in your browser!

Spear of Destiny & Wolfenstein 3D - Amiga v1.21 AGA ports are now available

NovaCoder has really kicked it up a notch in the Amiga scene as another bit of news from our friend Solo Kazuki, is the 1.21 Nova release of both Spear of Destiny and Wolfenstein 3D as Amiga AGA editions. Spear of Destiny originally developed by id Software in 1992 is the prequel to the genre defining first person shooter of id Software's Wolfenstein 3D.  In regard to these Amiga AGA ports, they are based on various SDL version's of Wolfenstein 3D and some bits from DOOM.

Red Olympus - Retro inspired shooter in glorious CGA ( Recommended )

The Gravedigger gave me the heads up in my email today to check out his latest action packed retro
inspired first person shooter called Red Olympus - A CGA Death Rampage. Honouring those classic first person shooters such as Wolfenstein, Red Olympus has a great visual style with chiptune music in a mission to find and kill Ovsky, a russian criminal leader who turned the south of The City into his own domain.

Genetic Species - The Company.pl's Amiga-PC Retro FPS (Update 3)

Game Type : FPS
Launcher Developer :  The Company.pl
Further Info  : A game that I've personally never heard of until today, and didn't have the pleasure of playing when I had my Amiga was Genetic Species. A title developed by a rather unknown company Marble Eyes in 1992, which had you shooting enemies in a 3D action environment with texture mapping speeds never before seen on any Amiga entertainment title! It also needed a rather high end AGA Amiga with an 020 CPU, a minimum of 2mb Chip and 8Mb Fast Memory, a Hard Drive and a 2 x Speed CDRom Drive. But with the aid of such emulators like WinUAE or The Company you can play it at full speed in all it's 3D glory today, I mean just check out the intro at the start. If you loved Doom or Wolfenstein then this game will be right up your fps alley!
Release : Available now FREE
Systems : PC
