Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the Sega Mega Drive is looking pretty impressive!

In 1997/8 Konami released the incredible action platformer of Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the PlayStation and Saturn: a game that had impressive visuals gaining widespread acclaim as one of the best video games of all time, such as gameplay innovations, atmosphere, and soundtrack. Well if you remember this fine game and still hold it in high regard even today, will be interested to know that Pigsy has taken it upon themselves to back-port the 32-bit epic to a 16-bit system, namely the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis.

While we are not sure if this is going to be turned into a full Castlevania game, especially as from our research from other sources last year, stating the creator has no intention to port the entire game to the Mega Drive. From what we do know however, is Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the Sega Mega Drive will not only be a traditional, level-by-level game more akin to the old-school Castlevania titles, but it will use assets from both the PlayStation and Saturn versions, and may even have two modes of gameplay.... And that's all we know so far, but for further information keep following the channel linked (HERE).

    1. Yeah, only had to use almost all of the Genesis VRAM to pull it off. This is more of a hat trick than anything else. If they were serious about this, it would have less than half of the frames of the original.
