It's the turn of the Sega Megadrive/Genesis for a new game announcement, as the classic Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and DOS game 'Rick Dangerous' has been released as a remastered edition for the Sega Megadrive and Genesis called 'Rick Dangerous DX' by Z-Team. A game that will make you feel like an Indiana Jones character traversing dangerous locations such as caves and temples while avoiding the bad guys and deadly boulders and spiked traps.
Rick Dangerous was originally developed by Core Design and published by Firebird in 1989 and this version looks to be another fantastic looking conversion/remaster, which is based around the Nintendo Wii edition (remade by Magic Team in 2008), and Amiga remake by Z-TEAM (Domkid - Troudki in 2023). Rick Dangerous, super hero and part time stamp collector is in dire peril. Armed with his trusty six shooter, a stick and some dynamite, Rick crash lands somewhere in South America (he forgot to refuel his aircraft). Rick Dangerous is the new cult game, it's totally addictive, pure fun and Rick, well, Rick is Dangerous!

ReplyDeleteThank You! Very intrigating action/adventure.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable GFX and SFX !!
Honest question to everyone: Did anyone ever actually liked Rick Dangerous' gameplay? I don't mean its presentation or environmental variety, but minute-to-minute gameplay - constant insta-kill "gotcha" traps, trial and error layout, clumsy controls, super unforgiving mechanics - that kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteI found Rick Dangerous 2 to be more enjoyable.
DeleteRick 1 is full of random traps that you have no way to avoid. It's like someone would push an insta-kill button in random moments. It's a memory game. You just die constantly and memorize the traps.
The graphics are weirdly inconsistent.
