Moonstone - Preview of an Amiga hack and slasher classic for the Amstrad CPC!

If you've got an Amiga or an Amstrad CPC or just remember playing both of these systems growing up, then this piece of news is sure to blow your mind! As the 1991 Amiga Mindscape classic ' Moonstone : A Hard Days Knight ' has been teased on the Amstrad CPC as a preview. Titled as just ' Moonstone ' and made available by Jean-Marie, this is a very early dev port of the most incredible and gorish Amiga hack and slasher/beat em up game of its time.

Here's the full details from the CPCWiki forum linked (here). "This is an early preview of my attempt to port this classic hit from Amiga & PC. Not sure if I'll go through the end, but I'll give it a try anyway! I still have to implement the collision detection, and there is no enemy's AI for the moment. You can still stroll across the 4 different landscapes, and wield your sword."

  • It's joystick(s) only, and requires 128K of RAM.
  • The following tools were used: WinAPE, Pixsaur, ConvImgCPC, FDC Tools (AMSDOS files reading), WAV2AY, ZX0 (+spke's fast decoder).
  • The loading screen is a transfer of Hyde209's original artwork, which can be viewed  (give him some likes!).
  • 40 years ago, I was offered the best Christmas gift of my life by my parents! God bless'em, and have a Merry Christmas

And have a lager at the Moonstone tavern !

Thanks Xenomorph for the heads up, what a very special Amstrad CPC Christmas indeed!
