Pauldron - A RedPill developed blaster for the Amiga that looks pretty decent! [UPDATE]

The last news article from me and one I think looks pretty cool! Is a new Commodore Amiga game that's in development called 'Pauldron' by Zener, Sandman and Fireb0y. A game that's not only being developed using RedPill, but it's a top scrolling blaster featuring AGA graphics at 64 colors (144 total), transparency effects, 4 songs, 3 stages, 9 enemies and 11 power ups. To coincide with this news, provided below is the full details, gameplay footage and downloadable tease.

And here's those details. "As dark omens spread across the land, demons stir in the depths, preparing to invade the world of men. While kingdoms remain unaware, one wizard senses the coming doom. Rather than wait for the end, he descends into the demons dungeon, a place of ancient spells and hidden dangers. There, alone against the abyss, he will face the demons at their source... before the world above is lost forever. In development for Commodore Amiga"

Requirements

  • Amiga AGA, in the future we may be developing a non-AGA version.
  • ADF has a couple of sound FX missing.

Development

  • Development started for AmiGameJam 2025, in October 2025. Static images are done using AI, at some point we will replace them with real pixel art. There are also a few placeholder sprites.

Update  The developer has released a new build with the following changes.
  • Fix for horizontal line glitch
  • Enemy tweaks
  • Lower volume for ingame music
  • Fixed shadow for Golem
  • Increased difficulty
  • When Golem is summoned you can move to place him.

  1. It looks nice, but the music sounds out of tune and very annoying.

  2. It does sound out of tune, but it's intentional, I think. Great game idea, but it looks crazy easy.

  4. Were is a port of an Zelda-like RPG?

For a short moment, it looks like in the screenshot.

But no. The machine is able to, but nobody bring it to life.

    Speris Legacy only mocked it.

  12. it's ironic this is so easy because most Amiga games were geared up to a high difficulty, I attribute my game playing skills now to cutting my teeth on the crazy 90s shooters/platformers I played on my old A500. Maybe the final version will be more challenging but I think this is one of the limitations of Red Pill games, that they seem kind of slow. I would of dyed and gone to heaven if a game making environment like Red Pill came out in the early 90s. It seems perfect for og final fantasy/zelda style games and for some reason those types of games didn't happen on the Amiga in it's day.
