The Commodore Amiga scene continues with even more development news, with a new demo from the upcoming game called Norrland, a gritty survival-adventure title from developer Sami Vehmaa (8080). Set against the unforgiving backdrop of northern Sweden, this new AGA-exclusive title challenges players to balance a mundane delivery job with a high-stakes investigation into the death of a courier. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video of the current version released through Aminet.
Here's the latest from the website. "At 56 you took a chance on this undercover detective job! Maybe you are too old for this... There's something going on in northern parts of Sweden and you are here to uncover it all. As a undercover you need to maintain your normal delivery job and help out those living in outposts scattered around while you investigate the death of a curior. You think, easy.... nope there is a lot to keep track on like ammo, food, cold, dangerous animals...

ReplyDelete12MB free fast mem for this horror?
ReplyDeleteThis "Horror" game is still in development! ;)
DeleteI downloaded the game and gave it a try. I was playing using virtual a1200 with 68040 and this game has to be played to really understand. The video gave the impression that the game was very plain but there are little rabbits and snow flakes falling etc.. this is really good!!
DeleteThe video probably doesn't do the game justice!
DeleteThis looks interesting. Wondering what the 12MB fast RAM is used for. Or the 50 MHz CPU. The C64 eats this kind of games for breakfast. On the other hand, there are so many people with high specced Amiga systems nowadays, so why not...
ReplyDeleteOr people can just play via WinUAE, no need to get a high spec real Amiga for an occasional random game.
DeleteCannon Fodder for a plain A500 asks his RAM back ..
ReplyDeleteProtagonist 56 years old! Love it for the target audience…. We’re all getting to be silverbacks!
ReplyDeleteYou might want to add the link to the itch.io page where you can purchase the latest release.
ReplyDeleteI like the music and the overall feel of this game. I'm just going by the video but it looks like it could be done on a Amiga 500 with proper memory or at least 1200. I don't understand why it needs such a fast Amiga, but there is prob more going on than meets the eye. The Amiga needs more new original games and this looks ptomiding!!
ReplyDeletehttps://youtu.be/ejyTYbB-2tc?t=1329 - sure it can be done on A500.
DeleteLike I commented on Youtube..I bought this game and I like it, yet it needs polish and improvements.
ReplyDeleteIt is promising, an Amiga take of sorts on "Death Stranding ".
I am guessing there will be more to come.
Don't knock till you try it.
