Norrland - A game inspired by Norrland/Sweden demo'd for the Commodore Amiga

The Commodore Amiga scene continues with even more development news, with a new demo from the upcoming game called Norrland, a gritty survival-adventure title from developer Sami Vehmaa (8080). Set against the unforgiving backdrop of northern Sweden, this new AGA-exclusive title challenges players to balance a mundane delivery job with a high-stakes investigation into the death of a courier. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video of the current version released through Aminet.

Exo-Tical - Check out this awesome game for the MSX by Roolandoo

Fancy playing an MSX game that the MSXdev25 competition page says " As with any Roolandoo game, you know two things are going to happen. It is going to look good, and it is going to play hard ", then come and check out the latest release called 'Exo-Tical' by Roolandoo. Cathedral - A NES-inspired 8-bit adventure you might want to see

Putting aside all those Greenlight successes and back to my 8-bit ways, Decemberborn was kind enough to give us a shout out about their new game ' Cathedral, the 8-bit adventure ', that is inspired by the great NES console as an adventure and exploration RPG! Yes indeed a NES style game, and if that game Shovel Knight was anything to go by, people will be all over this like Mario to a stash of coins!

Renowned Explorers - Gets launch trailer for GOG/Steam release!

We've just been informed by Abbey Games, the same developers behind the brilliant game 'REUS', that they have announced the release of 'Renowned Explorers: International Society' on GOG and Steam. An adventure strategy game with remarkable attitude-based game play set in a fictitious 19th century, is now available for PC, Mac and Linux as you explore the far corners of the world in the age of discovery. To coincide with this great news, the developers have released an official launch trailer, which shows the game play, character designs, animation and more.

Random Acts of Mining - Arcade fun for your Steam Greenlight votes

When it comes to Indie games some of the most popular types are those that involve the player exploring deep caves and fighting beasts with a mission to collect something of value. It gives you that urge to go ever deeper and a wonder of what lurks around the next rock face. As such, here we are with 'Random Acts of Mining'; a game that involves a Robotic Underground Treasure Hunter as she navigates her way through dangerous randomly-populated subterranean environments to procure precious gems and acquire valuable wildlife specimens that was lost in an accidental teleport!

Last Ninja Redux - C64 hit game gets a work in progress remake!

Way back in 1987, System 3 released one of the greatest action adventure games ever to be made available for the C64. It was none other than 'The Last Ninja', which also saw a number of ports released for the Apple IIGS, MS-DOS, BBC Micro, Acorn Electron ,Apple II, Amiga, Atari ST and ZX Spectrum (as Last Ninja Remix). But what glorious news today as we've been informed by Tom of the retro gaming group, that the legendary game is getting a remake in the form of 'Last Ninja Redux'

Pioneers - Retro inspired atmospheric game with RPG elements

More good news today as the atmospheric turn based RPG styled game 'Pioneers' by Eigen Lenk, is now available to buy as a work in progress build. We did a big feature of this game back in February last year and has been at our most top wanted list for some time. An adventure, exploration mix, 'Pioneers'  is set in the 16th century where you lead a party of travellers in search of treasure-rich temples, new tribes and ways to go down in history.

Bernband - City exploration in an unusual style

Probably one of the strangest games I've seen this year; an exploration game where you explore a uniquely designed city, in a hands out first person view point. Developed by Tom and recently uploaded to Gamejolt, you'll explore the city of the pff with 23 or more unique locations to discover that's both immersive and has a great atmosphere. The developer has also mentioned it's not about the scares as Bernband is a family friendly game.

Red Death - A free exploration game that feels like Prometheus

Unlike some people I know, I really enjoyed the movie Prometheus, with it's alien world, large spaceship and strange deadly life forms. So when I happened to come across Red Death by Zeitgeist, it certainly gave me that Prometheus vibe. According to Zeitgeist, Red Death is an exploration game of survival as you partake on a mission to Mars to uncover it's secrets.

Transcendence - Space Combat and Exploration V1.3 release!

Kronosaur Productions have just informed us about their latest v1.3 release for Transcendence, which is a single player, PC based RPG of space combat and exploration. For those of you who enjoyed games such as Star Control II or the mechanics of Nethack, then check out the latest release which features a full orchestral score!

No Man's Sky - The latest Sci-fi game gets an E3 2014 trailer

Developed by Hello Games, No Man's Sky is a new Space Sim set to drop jaws, at least going by what we've seen so far. Set in an infinite, procedural universe. You'll be exploring the stars in your space ship, visiting many unique planets and battling against fleets of ships all in a universe that is never the same. If the videos are anything to go by, it's a game with plenty of eye candy and all this developed by a small indie company which is very impressive. Let's hope the final lives up to the hype, so check out the trailers and enjoy!
