RetroSouls has just released its latest ZX Spectrum title, PiglyFlag, a charmingly decent monochrome puzzle adventure that tackles a question some may has pondered: what happens to our favourite pixels when the screen goes dark? According to creator Denis Grachev, these digital companions end up trapped all alone in the pitch black, missing us terribly. In this stylish monochrome game, players must step in to rescue a deeply frightened little piglet, guiding and pushing them safely toward each level's exit while dodging a host of treacherous creatures known as the Brymlis.
PiglyFlag brings together a talented roster of scene veterans, featuring a vibrant loading screen crafted by Ivan Seleznev and a catchy, chiptune soundtrack composed by Oleg Nikitin. Developed with moral support from Artemka Vasilev and Dmitri Ponomarjov, the game offers a smooth, enjoyable experience for anyone who loves the ZX Spectrum. Players can control the action using classic Sinclair 1/2 or OPQAM/Space layouts, and if the Brymlis catch you off guard, a quick tap of the R key instantly restarts the level for another run.
