Looking through itch io I've found out that developer Sunteam has officially released Cauldron Scare Attack, a fast-paced single-level score attack game developed for Windows. According to the website, the title serves as a modern homage to Palace Software's legendary classics, drawing direct inspiration from the original Cauldron—originally crafted by Steve Brown, Tony Barber, and Simon Dunstan—as well as its iconic sequel, Cauldron II, which featured the talents of Brown, Richard Leinfellner, and Richard Joseph.
The plot kicks off just in time for Halloween, as the menacing King Punglekin rallies the creatures of the night in a bid to take total control. Players step into the shoes of The Hag, the only hero capable of thwarting his plans by utilizing potent witch's magic to scare the invading monsters into submission before a final showdown with Punglekin himself. As you navigate the chaos, you can gather crystal balls to amplify your magical abilities and scoop up special bonus items to maximize your high score. The game offers accessibility using either standard keyboard controls (the cursor keys paired with Left Control) or a gamepad.
