Metro Siege - A 16-bit Beat 'em Up for Amiga, Neo Geo, and PC. Smashes Kickstarter goal! [UPDATE]

Well this is incredible news, as the highly anticipated Metro Siege Kickstarter campaign has successfully smashed its initial funding goal, proving that the appetite for classic side-scrolling brawlers remains stronger than ever. Developed as a love letter to vintage arcade action by BitBeamCannon, this 16-bit co-op beat 'em up is currently being built for classic Amiga computers, Neo Geo hardware, and modern PC systems. While there is still 28 days to go, the Kickstarter stands at £24,885 pledged of a £13,817 goal!

What an incredible amount of Amiga news we've had this month, from the in-development game of Galaga, to the latest releases of Ninja Carnage, and our personal favourite Shift. Well here we are with another Amiga news story, as we've just been told through Facebook, that BitbeamCannon, Enable Software and JOHN TSAKIRIS, has made available 3 playable levels, with the choice of two characters via the first technical preview of 'Metro Siege'. A mind blowing new Amiga 500 brawler that's coming to an Amiga near you in the near future.

DaemonClaw : Origins of Nnar - Upcoming Amiga, PC and Sega Mega Drive game gets new footage

Indie Retro News has been flooded with new updates in our inbox, from new Indie games to those released on the Amstrad, Atari XL/XE and the C64 ( Seriously we are still catching up! ). But now thanks to another heads up from Saberman via our Facebook page, he has told us not only is the upcoming Amiga, PC and Sega Mega Drive game of 'DaemonClaw' by BitBeam Cannon still being developed, but he has recently done another gameplay video of the game which can be viewed below.

But now thanks to another heads up from Walter in our Commodore Amiga Facebook group, he has told us not only has the upcoming Amiga, PC and Sega Mega Drive game of 'DaemonClaw' been teased with new footage, but the creators are looking for people to sign up, test the game and give feedback while it's in development!

Earok's Scorpion Engine is just an amazing piece of Amiga game creation software, especially as it is being used to create high quality games such as Wonderboy 1200, Jackal, Gunsmoke, and even the Castlevania game of Akumajou Dracula AGA. Well here we are with another Scorpion Engine related news story, as Earok has just announced he is helping Mike at BitBeamCannon create an incredible new Amiga game for A500 in Scorpion Engine... In short "he's been making fantastic use of features like parallax and translucency in four bitplane mode, as well as demonstrating some cool gameplay concepts".

HOT NEWS : Michael Parent joins PixelGlass, New Amiga game hinted!


Another day and another hot news announcement! As we have just been told in our inbox from Pixelglass and the team behind Worthy (i.e. John Tsakiris and Alex Brown ), that a super awesome and talented professional pixel artist named as Michael Parent of Bit Beam Cannon, has joined the team to create awesome Amiga games. As noted by the EAB post, Michael has been active in the scene for many years now, however recently stepping up his activities doing such things as live streams and game making, he is also currently involved in various fantastic, new Amiga game projects, which is shown in his new Youtube channel below.
