Tower and Dragon for the Commodore PET with only 8K (V4.0 Kickstarter Launched!)

Thanks to a heads up by Jason Cook in our emails, we've learnt that the previously released game for the Commodore PET called 'Tower and Dragon', has entered a new phase with version 4.0, smashing its latest Kickstarter with pledges raising over £2,715 of a £749 goal. A game that the creator says "Tower And Dragon for the Commodore PET with only 8k. The game has also been written in assembly language". Space Invaders 2 - An updated and improved version of a 1980's Commodore PET classic! [C64 UPDATE]

We've seen lots of Space Invader variants over the years, from Havie's Blitz Basic version of the game on the Amiga, to our personal favourite from Pink/Abyss called 'Tiny Invaders'. Well yet again we've been sent another version of Space Invaders for you to enjoy, and it's Jimbo's Commodore PET game of 'PET Space Invaders 2' ; An updated and improved version of the original PET game from 1980. 

Escape from PETSCII Castle - A Wolfenstein 3D inspiration but for the Commodore PET by Jimbo

It's been some time since we've featured a Commodore PET news story here on Indie Retro News, so to change all that, here's the latest update from Jimbo, his newest of creations for the Commodore PET called ' Escape from PETSCII Castle'. A Wolfenstein 3D inspiration from the same creator who bought you games such as PETSCII Bros, PET Panic!, PET Space Invaders 2 and TREKWAR. PETSCII Wizard of Wor - A classic Arcade game in PETSCII for the Commodore Plus/4, C64 and CBM PET

Commodore owners are going to love this news story that we've just come across on Facebook.. As if you remember playing and hopefully enjoying the 1980's Arcade game of Wizard of Wor, which also appeared on the Atari 8-bit, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Bally Astrocade and C64. Then you'll be pleased to know that Kornél Kolma together with Csabo, has released PETSCII Wizard of Wor for the Commodore Plus/4 as well as the Commodore 64 and CBM PET! 

PETSCII Side-Scrolling Platformer - A new game for the Commodore PET inspired by Mario and Sonic!

Jimbo is certainly no stranger to IndieRetroNews, as he is one of the only developers who has created new games for the Commodore PET. Games such as PETSCII Bros, PET Panic!, PET Space Invaders 2, TREKWAR are just some of those games that have been mentioned by us. Well here we are with another game from Jimbo, as he has released a new game called 'PETSCII Side-Scrolling Platformer'. A new game which he describes as a Commodore PET game inspired by Mario and Sonic. As thanks to another heads up by a good friend of ours on both Facebook and Twitter, we've just learnt of a new game that you can play right now called 'PETSCII Bros' by Jimbo; an Arcade homage to that classic game of Mario Bros which was released way back in 1983. To coincide with this news, the creator has also provided a video showing the game in action.

PET Panic! - A new game makes an appearance for the Commodore PET by Jimbo!

As thanks to a heads up by a good friend of ours on Facebook, we've learnt of a new game that you can play right now called 'PET Panic!' by Jimbo; a new platformer for the Commodore PET in which the creator says in an updated version of the classic game of Space Panic (Apple Panic). Fancy a new game for the Commodore PET, then you've come to the right place! As thanks to a heads up by a good friend of ours on Facebook, we've learnt of a new game that you can play right now called 
'TrekWar'; an action game which has been developed by Jimbo that is available to download for completely free for any fans of Star Trek! To coincide with this news, you can either watch the video below or download the game through itch io.

Attack of the Petscii Robots - Action Adventure game from David Murray/8Bit Guy gets a Shareware version (C128/Pet/X16)

We have recently been contacted through Facebook, to tell you that the same creator of PLANET X3, who we know as David Murray/The 8bit guy, has not only made available the Action Adventure game of 'Attack of The Petscii Robots' for the Commodore PET, Commodore 128 and the Commander X16, but as noted by the website description, these are the shareware versions which unlike the full and commercial versions does not feature SNES controller support or cheat-codes.

PETSCII Portal - An inspiration to Valve's Portable arrives on the C64 and Commodore PET

For those of you who have played Valve's hit game of Portal might like this early hour news story, as we've recently been informed via CSDb, that if you head on over to the itch page below, you can  download either the Commodore PET or C64 version of PETSCII Portal. A tribute to the Flash game Portal2d, which itself was a tribute to the Valve game Portal. TuT-TuT - A Commodore PET game over from the ZX81 with sound and pause from the ZX Spectrum!

Fancy a new game for the Commodore PET, then you've come to the right place! As thanks to a heads up by a good friend of ours on Facebook, we've learnt of a new game that you can play right now called 'TuT-TuT'; an Arcade game which has been developed by Tynemouth Software that is available in digital/cassette form, and also available for the ZX81, a ZX Spectrum overhauled version, and later versions for the Jupiter Ace / Minstrel 4th and TRS-80 MC-10 by David Stephenson.

Lode Runner - Forty years on, a Lode Runner clone for the Commodore PET!

One game I remember so fondly, was the 1980's classic Lode Runner. It was a game I used to play on a original monochrome Macintosh for many hours in a darkened room away from the outside world. It was actually published by Brøderbund in 1983 and appeared on so many systems, it would be easy enough even now to find a copy on a choice of computer. Thankfully 40 years on the Commodore PET is looking to get in on the Lode Runner fun, as Jim Orlando has just released his clone of that classic called Lode Runner on Commodore PET.
