Twin Dragons - Charming platformer in development for the NESdev compo 2016

As a heads up by RVG a brand new NES game is in development for the NESdev compo 2016, and it's called ' Twin Dragons ', developed by Glutock. This is a charming looking side-scrolling platformer that will feature decent animations, physics, moving platforms, items and power ups and much more to make this a worthy sounding game indeed. According to the developer at its current stage of development ; collisions, simple AI and basic sound effects are working, but flying enemies
a boss, game over screen and slopes still need to be implemented.

Towering Inferno - Intellivision homebrew with a burning movie inspiration

This could well be our first Intellivision homebrew as only just last month, the developer Kiwi announced a brand new Intellivision game called ' Towering Inferno ', which is inspired by the movie Towering Inferno. Currently in an early stage of development, the developer was originally going to make a top down game called ' Venture ' however after seeing a clip of inferno for the Atari 2600 on Facebook he decided to change over from Venture and convert the engine over to this new game.

Fatal Smarties - A cool homebrew Sega Genesis/Mega Drive shoot em up!

If you have a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive with a way of playing homebrew games or the emulator Fusion, it might be worth your time to come and play ' Fatal Smarties ' by Mike Tucker, Matt Cope, Jon Davies and Mike Clark. Developed as a 48hour for the Global Game Jam, Fatal Smarties is a cool looking homebrew shoot em up in which you play as two hillbilly heroes in a homemade flippercopter to repel the demonic waves of evil!

Scramble - Impressive detail for a classic Shoot em up Atari 2600 port!

In June of this year Thomas Kite, with source trainer by Laxity, released a very nice side scrolling shoot em up C64 port of a much earlier game which was originally released way back in 1983 as Skramble developed by Darrell Etherington. The actual release name was ' Scramble ' which was also the original name of the game released in February 1981 developed by Konami and distributed in North America by Stern Electronics. A game that is a joy to play with lots side scrolling action, has now been given the Atari 2600 treatment by johnnywc with very impressive graphics as a port of Konami's Scramble.
