Dimo's Quest - 1993 Amiga retro puzzler free for the PC

The next The Company.PL release is available and it's none other than the 1993 multi-platform puzzler of 'Dimo's Quest' by Infernal Byte Systems which is now available as a fully playable PC version. Originally on the Amiga, CD-I and even PC through DOS has been packed up with TC-UAE and loadable as a single exe file.  In Dimo's Quest you play as Dimo the frog who is on a quest to collect all the sweets in the Kingdom for the King to be able to marry his daughter Princess Dori.

Watchtower - Another take on the Commando style genre (PC portable)

Even though Commando and Ikari Warriors were very good games, Watchtower came just at the right moment in time when the Commando style genre was all but lost to history and this was a great Amiga AGA only game released in 1996. Watchtower not only had very polished arcade style mechanics but the graphics were pretty decent as well, especially with such a huge game area to play in. Some would class this as the best Commando clone that was available on the Amiga and after you play it you'll probably see why. Watchtower is full of shooting action and is now available as a free PC portable edition thanks to The Company.PL.

Space Ace Compilation - The Company.PL releases another PC portable Amiga version of a smash hit series!

I never thought i'd see the day when Space Ace 1 & 2 (Amiga version) would show itself on Indie Retro News as a freely playable portable version, and today that has happened. Space Ace was a laser disc game originally produced by Don Bluth Studios and unveiled in Oct 1983 not long after another hit classic title, Dragons Lair. This all time classic game was ported to the Amiga in 1989 and it's sequel Space Ace 2 featured an interactive like movie experience, in the fact that it was a cartoon but your actions have consequences in the game. Actions must be made at the right time and in the right way or a death screen would quickly follow! Such an amazing game and thanks to The Company.PL you can play the original Amiga versions free in a portable exe. Please note though, that this is not the PC version which is available to buy on Steam.

Alcatraz - Bring down a notorious drugs trafficker in this Amiga-PC portable game!

Alcatraz is an action game created by 221B Software Developments and published by Infogrames in 1992. Your mission.... Bring down the notorious drug trafficker and warlord Miguel Tardiez who is now based on Alcatraz. This is an enjoyable game as you can shoot enemies that come from both sides in a side scrolling action based way, which then swaps to a first person view point when searching buildings for illegal items. Alcatraz can be also be played in split screen two player! The Company.PL has now re-released the game via a free PC portable edition, so you can now play it on your pc via a single runnable exe.

Base Jumpers - The Company.pl goes PC portable with another classic Amiga title

This is one of those games that's just so damn fun to play, and you can even play with four friends simultaneously. A game that would do well as an indie title even today! Base Jumpers by Shadow, has you playing as a base jumper trying to reach the top of the building, and then jumping off while avoiding the many obstacles along the way. What makes this game so fun, is not just the fact you can play with others, but the multiple platforming levels, neat graphics and great game play. You can probably even notice the Amiga boing ball on the top of each character! This game is an Amiga portable version by The Company.pl, which can be played on the PC via a single exe.

Gods - The Bitmap Brothers excellent Platformer now PC portable!

This is one of those great classics that most of us have probably heard of, and it's also developed by the awesome Bitmap Brothers. Gods is a Platformer from 1991 that appeared on multiple platforms including my favourite computer, the Amiga. You control the legendary Hercules in his quest to achieve immortality! And this is done through many different levels that become ever more difficult. Especially as you not only have to deal with traps but also enemies and figuring out which levers work what door. Now thanks to The Company.PL you can play the Amiga version through a single exe, all nice and portable.

Soccer Kid - An Amiga platforming classic where your ball is a weapon!

Here's a great game that I have fond memories of as a child, probably the only game I can remember where your football (Soccer for the Americans) is a tool against the bad guys. Developed by Krisalis and released in 1993 for both the Amiga, SNES and 3DO is a fun Platformer staring the Soccer Kid! Play through any number of levels, performing runs, shots, bicycle kicks, headers and other popular footy moves while avoiding being hurt by the bad guys. Once again, thanks to The Company.PL you can play the Amiga classic on your PC in a single, virus free exe.

Baby Jo In ''Going Home'' - Cute Amiga Platformer for your PC

Say hello to Baby Jo, he needs your help as he's out in the wild, all alone and surrounded by dangerous beasties! It's down to you to get him home, but with the amount of traps and dangerous creatures in the way it almost seems unlikely. Never fear though, as you can jump and dodge your way through the levels, with rattles to throw and super nappies to increase your speed and even give you invulnerability. Collect fruit along the way but eat too much and your nappy fills up, almost make sure to drink enough milk. A game that looks cute but has suffered negative criticism from the Amiga crowd, especially LemonAmiga with one such user commenting " Average graphics, slow and jerky game play, stupid level design ". But as with every game, opinion differs, what did you think of it?

Zool Compilation - One of Amiga's best selling Platformer, now for your PC!

If Rick Dangerous didn't wet your retro appetite, here comes another classic platforming game. A game so well received it became one of Amiga's best selling titles! Zool was intended as a rival to Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog and also hyped upon its initial release, including being bundled with the newly launched Amiga 1200. The AGA version with enhanced graphics followed later. Also to note Zool had a top quality developer and publisher to it's name, Gremlin. In this game you control Zool, who is a rather strange Ninja from the Nth dimension, forced to land on Earth and pass through seven lands of Candyland. Both Zool 1 and Zool 2 are very good Platformers and that they have great graphics and great gameplay. And now thanks to The Company.pl you can play these amazing Amiga classics on your PC.

Abandoned Places compilation - An Amiga dungeon crawler series set above and below ground (PC playable!)

Game Info : Over the last few weeks I've had the pleasure of beta testing the new The Company.pl release of Abandoned Places 1 & 2 from 1992/93, which includes cheat trainers. This series may not be as good as Dungeon Master or even Eye of the Beholder but it does include both above and below ground areas of combat and exploration. I also liked the fact that your characters can starve and need food, you can also visit towns and locations on the world map. Two good games, however AB2 was more of a let down over 1, with the first dungeon in AB2 being extremely tedious to get out of and didn't rate highly in retro reviews either. Also not much in the way of stat development and no auto-map. But enough about that, if you want to explore different dungeons, secret areas, find loot and fight enemies in a grid based system, then check out these two games re-released for the PC in a single exe!

Compilation World Software Anthology - Free Amiga games for your PC

Game Info : Not much to say about these games, as they were not really that popular in the days of the Amiga. Reviews don't exactly hype it up either, but hey, at least it's a beat em up to the pass the time at work ,or at home, and of cause it's free. If you enjoy kicking the **** out of bad guys, especially grannies with a bit of gore, then have a go of the Compilation World Street Anthology. Just to note, if fighting isn't your thing, try Draggy And Croco which is a Platformer. Thanks to The Company.pl the Amiga version has been released/updated to version 2.6 so you can now play this on your PC with higher graphical filters
