Everdrive N8 - An SD device for the NES? Oh yes! [ Hardware Review ]

Over the Christmas period we featured RetroTowers SD device for the Megadrive, the 'Mega Everdrive'. Watchtower - Another take on the Commando style genre (PC portable)

Even though Commando and Ikari Warriors were very good games, Watchtower came just at the right moment in time when the Commando style genre was all but lost to history and this was a great Amiga AGA only game released in 1996. Watchtower not only had very polished arcade style mechanics but the graphics were pretty decent as well, especially with such a huge game area to play in. Some would class this as the best Commando clone that was available on the Amiga and after you play it you'll probably see why. Watchtower is full of shooting action and is now available as a free PC portable edition thanks to The Company.PL.

PCSX2 1.2.0 released! - The best Playstation 2 Emulator gets a much needed update

It's been nearly a year and a half since the previous major release and has gone through a number of svn builds since then, requiring plenty more fixes and improvements. According to the developers, one big change in this release is the integration of the wide screen patches made by the community for the community, numbering nearly 1200 games patched to support proper 16:9 aspect ratio. Game Info : This is one of the all time greatest Adventure games ever created! Not only did it appear on the Amiga, it also appeared on the PC(DOS) and has a large retro following. Released in 1994 and set in a cyberbunk, sci-fi back drop, had your character Robert Foster trying to escape from Union City and to uncover the corruption which lies at the heart of society. There is even a cool intro to this game and it has a great story, of which I won't spoil! It wasn't just the story which made this game great, but nifty puzzles, cool  backgrounds and other characters make this a worthy choice of play on any system. Although the original PC version is available on gog.com, there is an Amiga version that's free too! Thanks to The Company.pl, the Amiga version has been released/updated to version 2.6  so you can now play this on your PC with higher graphical filters.

X-It - Amiga puzzler (PC Playable)

Game Info : A very fun Retro game from the Amiga era, this is X-It, which is a puzzle game based on the moving of objects to solve different puzzles to reach the exit. Release Update : Great news for us Retro gamers as a new company is set to take the Emulation side of things by storm. ICE is a new piece of Emulation software that will enable you to play classic games via Steam's Big Picture. All you have to do is run the software, let it make a rom folder, place your Rom files in that folder and then use ICE to pick your game of choice, what's more it comes pre-configured for your XBOX 360 controller! Hopefully they wont get a cease and desist order as it's a grey area with Rom files and they continue to update it.

MAME Plus! XT v0.148u2 r5070 - Arcade Emulator

One of the best emulators for arcade games is MAME Plus! XT. There are loads of Mame versions out there, but this is my favorite, purely because it has the ability to use high end filters such as Supersai and Hq2x. MAME Plus! XT is also a variant of MAME Plus that adds additional features such as pcb (Printed Circuit Board) info, and xvid movie support. If you've got the roms and the bios files, you'll experience games such as Metal Slug in all it's HD glory, though we won't provide those sorry.
