Genesia - If you loved Populous or Settlers then check this Amiga-PC classic out

In 1993 Microids and Software Toolworks released a brilliant strategy game called Ultimate Domain (Genesia) for the Amiga. It was very similar to other classic strategy games of that time, as you started in the 17th century and had to colonize the new world, but also having to search for 'The Seven Jewels of Genesia'. It was one of my most favourite strategy games of all time and I was rather pleased to hear from our good friends The Company.PL, that they have made available the Amiga to PC playable release that everyone can pick up and play without setting up emulators.

Watchtower - Another take on the Commando style genre (PC portable)

Even though Commando and Ikari Warriors were very good games, Watchtower came just at the right moment in time when the Commando style genre was all but lost to history and this was a great Amiga AGA only game released in 1996. Watchtower not only had very polished arcade style mechanics but the graphics were pretty decent as well, especially with such a huge game area to play in. Some would class this as the best Commando clone that was available on the Amiga and after you play it you'll probably see why. Watchtower is full of shooting action and is now available as a free PC portable edition thanks to The Company.PL.

Lionheart - Beautiful looking Amiga Retro Platformer (PC Playable+Remake)

Lionheart is one of the nicest looking Platformers ever released on the Amiga, the details and game play are of very high standard. This was originally released in 1993 by Thalion Software and art design by Henk Neiborg which had your character traversing the levels, jumping platforms and killing bad guys, it was so popular that it received some great reviews in several magazines. I won't spoil the story because I really want you to play this fine game! Thanks to The Company.pl, which have just released/updated the Amiga release to a free PC portable version of 2.6.

Base Jumpers - The Company.pl goes PC portable with another classic Amiga title

This is one of those games that's just so damn fun to play, and you can even play with four friends simultaneously. A game that would do well as an indie title even today! Base Jumpers by Shadow, has you playing as a base jumper trying to reach the top of the building, and then jumping off while avoiding the many obstacles along the way. What makes this game so fun, is not just the fact you can play with others, but the multiple platforming levels, neat graphics and great game play. You can probably even notice the Amiga boing ball on the top of each character! This game is an Amiga portable version by The Company.pl, which can be played on the PC via a single exe.

Gods - The Bitmap Brothers excellent Platformer now PC portable!

This is one of those great classics that most of us have probably heard of, and it's also developed by the awesome Bitmap Brothers. Gods is a Platformer from 1991 that appeared on multiple platforms including my favourite computer, the Amiga. You control the legendary Hercules in his quest to achieve immortality! And this is done through many different levels that become ever more difficult. Especially as you not only have to deal with traps but also enemies and figuring out which levers work what door. Now thanks to The Company.PL you can play the Amiga version through a single exe, all nice and portable.

Soccer Kid - An Amiga platforming classic where your ball is a weapon!

Here's a great game that I have fond memories of as a child, probably the only game I can remember where your football (Soccer for the Americans) is a tool against the bad guys. Developed by Krisalis and released in 1993 for both the Amiga, SNES and 3DO is a fun Platformer staring the Soccer Kid! Play through any number of levels, performing runs, shots, bicycle kicks, headers and other popular footy moves while avoiding being hurt by the bad guys. Once again, thanks to The Company.PL you can play the Amiga classic on your PC in a single, virus free exe.

Solid Gold - Amiga fan based Platformer for the PC!

Unlike most games featured from the Amiga on Indie Retro News, this is a game that didn't have a commercial release and was developed by Night Owl Design who is an Amiga fan. The developer obviously has a good taste for Rick Dangerous as the look and feel of this game is very similar. SOLID GOLD is a Jump'n Run with 8-way soft scrolling. It's was written for the classic Amiga hardware and designed in the style of the early 90s. The game has ten levels spanning four worlds, with different graphics and enemies. Each level's goal is to find an artefact which will lead the way to the next world. This game is pretty easy to get up and running via WinUAE or your Amiga, but the best way for most people is on a PC via the company.pl's single exe files and that's exactly what this version is!

Compilation Dune Duology - Dune & Dune II, two amazing Amiga classics now PC Playable!

Whereas Dune by Cyro is a 1992 Adventure/Strategy video game, based upon Frank Herbert's science fiction novel - Dune II: is based upon David Lynch's 1984 movie Dune and is an RTS released in 92-93. Although in both games you are tasked to mine the spice from the desert planet Arrakis, in the first game it is far more Adventure based in the fact you talk to people, hire allies and defeat the Harkonnen. The second game has far more dominance in our minds as it was one of the greatest RTS games ever released and developed by a very famous company, Westwood. Dune II established the format that would be followed for years to come and laid the foundation for many great games such as the Command & Conquer series. Your task in the second game unlike the first is to deliver the most spice for Emperor Frederick IV and pay off his debts, but be warned as you are up against the Atreides, Harkonnen, and Ordos (depending on who you play). K240 - The sequel to the amazing Utopia is here for the PC

Game Info : Released in 1994 came a game that almost took the throne from Utopia, a space strategy game with such brilliance in gameplay, that many could not put this one down. For me, Utopia far excelled over this game as it was much easier to use, however K240 was not so easy. Utopia also had you on different planets building, researching and moving units into enemy areas. But in this game the title comes about in the fact that you are based in a sector of space called K240 in the year 2380, the focus of this game is to build colonies on a clusters of asteroids and mine them for ore. However all was not peaceful as you spent most of the time fighting against several different races hostile aliens with similar motives. Did you know that K240 had another sequel called Fragile Allegiance, though this time being a PC remake of the game but with improved graphics and user interface.
