Dick Tracy: The Crime Solving Adventure - Retro Amiga release for PC

You may remember our most recent article of the The Company.PL Amiga PC port release of "Dick Tracy"; a wooden, shallow, awkward, tedious, and generally devoid of much of the atmosphere shooter. Also it being inferior to Disney's 1991 "Dick Tracy: Crime Solving Adventure"! Thankfully we are past that poor game and going to feature Disney's version today.

Dick Tracy - Another The Company.pl retro shooter release!

Ah the good old days, games based on movies pushed onto the Arcades or home systems such as the Amiga and Atari. So here we are with another well known classic, "Dick Tracy" which originally was a 1990 American action film based on the 1930s comic strip character given the game treatment for home systems by Titus. It's just a shame that this version was inferior to Disney's "Dick Tracy: Crime Solving Adventure " as one site puts it Titus' Dick Tracy is a wooden, shallow, awkward, tedious, and generally devoid of much of the atmosphere shooter that makes the movie a cult favourite among fans of detective novels.  But at least with that out of the way, you can make your own mind up through this free Amiga - PC portable release, thanks to The Company.PL.

The Blues Brothers - The Company.pl returns with an Amiga-PC classic!

After a very long hiatus "The Company.pl" has released the latest Amiga PC portable edition of another Amiga classic "The Blues Brothers". First released in 1991 by Titus Software you play as the Blues Brothers and must avoid the police in order to make it to a blues concert. Thankfully the use of boxes can be thrown at enemies or put down for you to stand on, just watch out for the granny in the trolley as she's not to be messed with.

Rick Dangerous Compilation - An incredible classic ported to Amiga CD32 (+PC Portable)

Today was one of those days but when I saw the latest Amiga CD32 Earok port release of Rick Dangerous and it's sequel, my mood changed to one of joy. It's incredible to think that the same people behind Tomb Raider, Core Design were also behind this amazing series of Indiana Jones style platformers. You'll also be pleased to know that this isn't just Rick Dangerous, but Rick Dangerous 1,2 and 2.5, that's hours worth of enjoyment!

Watchtower - Another take on the Commando style genre (PC portable)

Even though Commando and Ikari Warriors were very good games, Watchtower came just at the right moment in time when the Commando style genre was all but lost to history and this was a great Amiga AGA only game released in 1996. Watchtower not only had very polished arcade style mechanics but the graphics were pretty decent as well, especially with such a huge game area to play in. Some would class this as the best Commando clone that was available on the Amiga and after you play it you'll probably see why. Watchtower is full of shooting action and is now available as a free PC portable edition thanks to The Company.PL.

Black Crypt - A brilliant Amiga dungeon crawler now PC portable

Sit up and take note as one of the best Amiga dungeon crawlers is now available as a free PC portable edition. Developed by Raven Software in 1992 and published by EA, you'll be exploring deep dark dungeons, solving puzzles, finding loot and fighting the many strange creatures contained within, all in a quest to defeat the evil Estoroth Paingiver. Although not as good as Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder, it still was a great game and now thanks to The Company.PL you can play it again with higher graphical filters in a single PC portable exe.

Deuteros : Duology Compilation - Two incredible Amiga strategy games free PC portable!

The Company.PL have released in PC portable versions, two incredible strategy games that are well known in the Amiga community as two of the best Amiga space strategy games ever made, Millennium 2.2 and Deuteros. They are so well sort after that even today both are still being sold for a high price on Ebay. Millennium 2.2 has you as the commander of Moonbase, ensuring the survival of humankind by exploring the Solar System for other habitable planets and moons, and ultimately re-establish life on Earth. Whereas Deuteros is set 800 years after Millennium, in a time when mankind has won the struggle to make the Earth habitable again but lost its space faring capabilities(which it is seeking to regain). Both games feature deep game play that can last you hours as you research, create new space equipment, colonize the stars and ultimately defeat the evil race which is intent on wiping you out.

Companions of Xanth, Shannara & Death Gate available for FREE!

Indie Retro News has a big treat for you today as three amazing games have re-appeared for free that are renowned as some of the greatest Adventure games of the 90's, Companions of Xanth, Shannara and Death Gate. All three of these games were developed and published by Legend Entertainment and aimed to give a different approach to the way Adventure titles were done. Instead of the usual point and click and moving a character about, each scene was as if it was in a first person view, and it's how you interacted with that scene, which helped to determine if a puzzle was to be solved or in one situation certain death. The graphics were in SVGA and excelled in detail, it was like a story book come to life. Plus with the very good in depth story relating to the original books and characters to talk to, these are three of the greatest Adventure games that I've ever played. I'd highly recommend to everyone to download and play these Adventure titles right now. Also a big thanks to the original source, Synchro for creating these easily launch able titles!

Here's a great classic you just have to play! This is Commando developed by Capcom, a run and gun, shoot em up style arcade game that was originally released in 1985 on multiple early systems and then appeared on the Amiga in 1989. You take the role of a soldier named Super Joe who on his own, has to fight his way through wave after wave of enemy units. Alcatraz is an action game created by 221B Software Developments and published by Infogrames in 1992. Your mission.... Bring down the notorious drug trafficker and warlord Miguel Tardiez who is now based on Alcatraz. This is an enjoyable game as you can shoot enemies that come from both sides in a side scrolling action based way, which then swaps to a first person view point when searching buildings for illegal items. Alcatraz can be also be played in split screen two player! The Company.PL has now re-released the game via a free PC portable edition, so you can now play it on your pc via a single runnable exe.

1869 - Trade on the high seas in this free Amiga-PC portable release!

Released in 1992/3 for the Amiga and developed by Max Design. 1869 is a sea trading/empire building game set in, you guessed it, 1869. It could almost be called the Patrician of the Amiga, as the game is very similar, in the fact that in both games you can trade from town to town, buy ships and become a rich trader. The graphics really suit the game and it's also fun to play although playing against another person was the more enjoyable. Thanks to The Company.PL 1869 is now available for your PC in a free portable edition.
