Ween: The Prophecy - A very unique but well worth playing Amiga game! (PC/MAC)

It's time to mention a game that I have been wanting to replay for a very long time, a point and click adventure that is both unique and full of charm and was released in 1992/3 for DOS, Amiga, and Atari ST. That game is ' Ween: The Prophecy ', a very hard to find adventure that was developed by Coktel Vision and published by Sierra On-Line, which has since been listed on Gamesnostalgia as a PC/MAC playable download that you really should be playing right now!

A great Friday update as we've just learnt that Ocean Software's 1987 isometric hit game 'Head Over Heels' has unofficially been made available as an Amiga-PC/MAC playable file via GamesNostalgia. What that means is, if fiddling with emulators and rom set ups is not to your liking you can play the Amiga version on your PC and MAC by simply running the file, although at its core it does use the fantastic frontend emulator FS-UAE.

Prepare yourself for an all time classic platforming game, a gem in the retro scene. It's none other than Rick Dangerous, developed by Core Design in 1989 that has been packaged together with the Amiga emulator FS-UAE for playability on the MAC and PC by GamesNostalgia. This is a game that's at the top of its class, released all those years ago on the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and DOS. It puts you in control of an Indiana Jones style character, with pistol and dynamite in hand, avoiding traps and fighting off enemies in lots of themed levels that will keep you hooked for ages!

Body Blows - Team 17's Amiga fighter available on the PC and MAC

Remember when I said I had more Gamesnostalgia mentions to come, well here's the next one, the Amiga's answer to Street Fighter, ' Body Blows ' by Team 17 way back in 1993. This was according to many Amiga game mags of the time, one of the best beat em ups money can buy, a true corker and one such mag The One even said "If you thought Streetfighter II was the business, think again" . A game worthy to be on the Amiga indeed, released for both AGA and non AGA models and much better than the PC port version, hence mentioning this one instead!

Ruff N Tumble - HQ action packed platformer playable on a PC/MAC

Not only does it have some of the best graphics with a great soundtrack, but the game has 4 worlds to play through each with lots of baddies and tons of firepower.

Eye of the Beholder AGA - MAC/PC playable Amiga dungeon crawler classic with Automap!

Only just recently I found a new site that enabled people to play retro games without all the hassle of setting anything up, it was just a download and run experience. But because many of their games are DOS based and being sold, we cannot mention any of their PC games. However that doesn't mean we can't mention Amiga games and it's today's special treat which may appeal to our avid dungeon crawler fans that was originally from the Amiga. The game we are going to shout about is in fact Eye of the Beholder, the Amiga AGA version which was written by Bertrand/CFou to support AGA (256 colors) GFX with automapping. - For the PC version you can buy it on GOG as well as Eye of the Beholder 2 and 3!

International Amiga Day - The day has come to celebrate the Amiga!

Rejoice all you retro gamers as the time has finally come to get your Amiga out and relive the golden years of the Amiga 500, 1200 or whatever system you had at the time. It's International Amiga Day which is in celebration of Jay Miner who, according to Gyorgy Dragon, was the father of the Amiga and today is his birthday. And what better way to celebrate that day than to do something related to the Amiga, it can be playing Amiga games on an emulator, using the original hardware or turning the old girl white again through a multitude of chemicals. This is going to be a great day as thousands or even millions of gamers around the world will be celebrating what I myself had the pleasure of playing.
