After the previous re-release of the excellent C64 classic The Last Ninja, with some added extra's, you would think that Hokuto Force would be taking a break, but not so.. As they've now released ' The Wasps and the Apples ' for the C64; which is an arcade style game that has been translated into English from German, with added trainer and a cool crack-tro.
In this stinging homebrew supplied by G-Force and translation by Flavioweb, you play as the little white guy that has to collect all the apples to complete the level. But what makes this game especially difficult is the non stop multi-directional character and the deadly wasps and edges. Basically as soon as you press a direction, the character will keep moving until you select a different one or he hits the edge of the screen or a deadly wasp, and thus it's game over. As to what I think of the game, it isn't too bad, but if you want a high quality release, there are better games out there.
