Jackal - A NES top down shooter is getting the Amiga remake treatment via Neeso Games [ UPDATE 27-8-2021 ]

While many of you are still waiting for Neeso Games awesome looking Arcade platformer of 'Super Delivery Boy', which is due for release towards the end of this year. There's another game you should be keep an eye on as developments progress, and that's Jackal; A remake of the NES top-down shooter of the same name, graphically enhanced to take advantage of the Amiga (OCS-ECS) hardware, which is currently being developed for the AmiGameJam competition.



According to the Scorpion Engine Facebook group and Tony Aksnes which announced the news not long ago, not only is development being made on porting each of the individual NES levels over to the Commodore Amiga, they also go onto say that a port of the much larger arcade stage might also be possible once Scorpion's ability to handle large maps is enhanced... For those of you who haven't heard of this game before, it is an overhead gun-style shoot-'em-up video game by Konami released for the arcades in 1986(NES 1988), and in the game the player must maneuver an armed jeep in order to rescue prisoners of war (POWs) trapped in enemy territory(wiki).
