What do Moon Patrol, Donkey Kong, Super Bagman, Galaxian500, Super Xevious, Track'N'Field, Gyruss and Burger Time all of have in common? Well apart from being Arcade games, all of these games were given the Amiga treatment by none other than JOTD. A developer that seems to be on a mission, to port just about every Arcade game over to the Amiga. Well fast forward to today however, and just I've been informed, that Data East's Arcade game of 'Lock 'N' Chase', has been converted over to the Amiga, thanks to JOTD.
And here's the latest developer notes posted via the EAB Forums. "Lock'N'Chase from Data East, a PacMan variation that I played in the arcades and I always liked the look of the cops when you took the bag of money. I had to bugfix my 6502 converter which did Burger Time perfectly, but that one was tougher. And it's the same hardware that Burger Time too so that helped a lot (this was a nice surprise! Fun fact: Burger Time was kind of a request as I never played it back in the days. I did it anyway, I don't remember why, and now that one that I wanted to do for a long time proves much easier thanks to Burger Time previous work)"
Features:
- - 100% original game code, sound & graphics
- - hardware sprites used for better refresh rate
- - 50fps on A500 with great speed
- - PAL or NTSC supported (NTSC is slightly faster, also bottom of screen
- is cut slightly, but it runs)
- - Highscores & best times are saved (unless cheat is on)

As with all his conversations it will be amazing
ReplyDeleteThis is a really fun game actually. Great choice for conversion.
ReplyDeleteAmazing work as always. Salute!
ReplyDeleteAs with anything from JOTD, the game looks solid. I'm still super impressed by the C64 version from LC Games. It's one of my favorite games from childhood when I played it on the Mattel Intellivision.
