Return to Blacktooth - Spiritual successor to ‘80s classic Head Over Heels for the Amiga and Atari ST

Retro gaming fans, dust off your joysticks and get ready to relive a classic game that many of us remember from our youth. After nearly four decades of anticipation, the spiritual successor to the legendary 1987 hit Head Over Heels has finally arrived. Titled as 'Return to Blacktooth', this new release for the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST aims to recapture the magic of the golden age of isometric adventures. As in the words of Thalamus Digital Publishing. "An old-school isometric arcade adventure and the spiritual successor to the much-revered ‘80s classic!"

Return to Blacktooth isn't just a trip down memory lane; it’s a massive expansion of the formula that made the original a masterpiece. Players once again take control of the iconic duo, Head and Heels, as they embark on a high-stakes mission to overthrow the tyrannical Emperor Blacktooth and liberate the galaxy. Guide our eponymous heroes through 300+ rooms laden with cunning puzzles, devious traps, and hidden surprises. Armed with Head’s formidable jumping and gliding abilities and Heels’ impressive speed and object-stacking abilities, you’ll need every ounce of skill as you explore the game’s five distinct planets in a quest to collect the priceless crowns – and maybe the odd fish or two.

  1. I saw this running at Crash Live a year or two back, and it looked awesome running on the ST! I could get both, but I think the developer was primarly developing on ST so will probably go for that version.

  4. I like it. It's a 8 bit game originally, and if you check the original amiga version I think the palette is more or less the same. If you want more colors play a more modern game.
