Acneproduction has revealed Mundialito 2, a high-energy sequel born from a lifelong passion for the beautiful game. Built with a "retro-first" mindset, this title aims to recapture the frenetic, wide-eyed joy of childhood gaming. While still in active development, Mundialito 2 promises a massive roster of 32 international teams all vying for championship glory. The final release is set to feature two distinct ways to play: Classic Mode: For those who crave a traditional simulation experience and Arcade Mode: A chaotic twist where game-changing power-ups and bonuses appear directly on the pitch to aid your team or sabotage your rivals.
In an impressive feat of coding, the game is being developed entirely in BASIC. Because of the technical demands of this approach, the developer has specified that the game is designed exclusively for the Amiga 1200 with 2MB of RAM to ensure smooth gameplay speeds. Players can jump into the action using an ADF image, making it compatible with emulators like WinUAE or transferable to real floppy disks for those running original hardware. Controls are kept intentionally simple: a quick tap of the fire button handles passing, while a long press unleashes a powerful strike on goal.
