Development trio RedBug, Pulsophonic, and TITAN have recently released Frogger Junior, an incredibly charming, modern reimagining of Konami’s legendary 1981 arcade classic. Designed specifically for the Amstrad GX4000, and the ZX Spectrum Next, the game puts a playful spin on the classic game. This time around, players step into the webbed feet of an ambitious young frog entering a high-stakes competition to win her very own property portfolio. The journey is far from a walk in the park; before claiming a prize, the little protagonist must first brave a chaotic, multi-lane highway packed with fast-moving vehicles traveling at wildly unpredictable speeds.
Once past the asphalt gridlock, the challenge shifts to a roaring river with constantly shifting currents. Survival hinges on precise timing as players hop across drifting logs while steering completely clear of snapping crocodiles. One wrong move—whether getting crushed by a truck, plunging into the deep water, or ending up as a reptile's lunch—will cost a life, though fortunate players might spot extra lives appearing randomly across the stage. The ultimate goal is to safely guide your frog into one of five vacant shoreline houses, but you'll have to plan your routes carefully, as a house cannot be shared once another frog has claimed it. Every time you successfully occupy all five homes, the difficulty cranks up a notch to push your reflexes to the max. Visually, the game is a real treat, boasting vibrant, pixel-perfect layouts created entirely using the popular Multipaint graphics tool.
