Tower 57 - Top of its class retro inspired shooter with a new gameplay trailer
Another one of my most eagerly awaited games and a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight success is Pixwerks 16-bit shooter ' Tower 57 '. It takes the best out of hit Amiga games such as Chaos Engine while having a rather unique steampunk vibe as you play as a selection of extraordinary individuals sent to infiltrate the reclusive Tower 57. Containing awesome 16-bit inspired pixel art, destructible environments and a ton of blasting action, this game has now received a new gameplay trailer!
Fox n Forests - Gorgeous 16bit era inspired platformer is a Kickstarter success!
What a fantastic day for the developers Bonus Level Entertainment, as their 16bit inspired platformer ' Fox n Forests ', is a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight success. Raising €103,949 of a €95,000 goal so far with 21 hours to go, Fox n Forests is one of my most eagerly awaited games. It looks to have the charm of those retro gaming platformer classics such as Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts, Wonder Boy in Monster World, the gameplay that a person of any age can pick up and play, and the musical and soundtrack that sounds as if it's being loaded up on a SNES or a Sega Megadrive.
Back in Time Symphonic Collection - C64 Symphonic Box Set Kickstarter success!
After a recent article and a big social share by ourselves, the ' Back in Time Symphonic Collection - C64 Symphonic Box Set ' is now a Kickstarter success with still 35 hours to go! Currently at £32,230 pledged of a £30,000 goal with project lead by C64Audio, they are going to arrange and produce a box set of Symphonic Commodore 64 studio arrangements that sound like properly large, epic )(or bouncy and fun, or eerie and mysterious) film soundtracks with full transcripts for orchestras to play live in concerts, creating a new generation of SID fans with incredible scores for people of all ages. To coincide with this glorious news, C64Audio have released a new update video with a powerful orchestra!
New AMIGA 1200 Cases - The new Amiga case Kickstarter success!
Fantastic news today as Philippe Lang's ' New AMIGA 1200 Cases ' is a Kickstarter success! That's right Amiga fans, raising €128,873 pledged of a €125,000 goal and still 3 days to go, many of us will finally be able to get our hands on a super resistive, Anti-UV plastic moulded Amiga case in our choice of colours, with special compatibility such as A1200 Reloaded / Raspberry Pi / MiST, HxC and more!
Hard West - Turn based combat Kickstarter success coming Nov 4th!

The story of the Commodore 64 in pixels - Chris Wilkins Book kickstarter success!
After a very good campaign we are pleased to announce Chris Wilkins book ' The Story of the Commodore 64 in Pixels' has smashed it's Kickstarter goal and raised over double in funding to be a complete success. In all the campaign hit £47,066 pledged of a £20,000 goal and all but one of the stretch goals was met. As such many will receive this glorious book while specific pledgers will get a brand new C64 game by Trevor Story and Georg Rottensteiner called 'Barnsley Badger'. And anyone that pledged £70 will get a new cartridge game by RGCD titled ' Tiger Claw'.

While the previous retro hardware Kickstarter for Amiga users is fighting for a Kickstarter success, Chris Wilkins book ' The Story of the Commodore 64 in Pixels' has already smashed it's Kickstarter goal and is getting ever closer to the big £40,000! The project creator who is also behind the ZX Spectrum Story in pixels vol 1, vol 2 and The History of U.S. Gold is now hoping to reach further stretch goals such as a collaboration with RESET magazine, a brand new album from Linus and GH, and if over £55K : Each book will come in a presentation box.
The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human - Pixelated action adventure gets an alpha demo!
Developed by Christopher Andreasson (Code and Design) and Josef Martinovsky (Art and Design and Sound) and made in Game Maker Studio, the Kickstarter success of ' The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human' has now appeared on Gamejolt with a playable alpha demo. Set in the deep underwater depths, millions of years later, you return in a sub-aquatic spaceship from a nearby wormhole in search of habitable planets, to try and discover what has happened to the Human race by exploring the decaying ruins of our species and fighting deadly sea-creatures in search of answers.
Memoirs of a Spectrum Addict - ZX Spectrum film Kickstarter success!
I'm sure many of you have noticed the influx of ZX Spectrum books, games and modifications, but a new ZX Spectrum film has just smashed through it's Kickstarter goal and there's still 29 days to go. It's the 'Memoirs of a Spectrum Addict - A tribute to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum ' film by Andy Remic. Classed as a full length documentary and raising over £1,624 so far, this Kickstarter of retro memories will be 120-180 minutes in length, which takes a detailed look at the ZX Spectrum, it's history, it's developers, it's games and it's fans!

Umbra - Diablo 2 styled action RPG is highest grossing Kickstarter game campaign from France to date!
The developer 'SolarFall Games' must be overwhelmed today as they have announced that not only is their open world RPG of 'Umbra' a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight success, but they have smashed their Kickstarter goal with an incredible $406,979 - 181% funded. As such it is now the highest grossing Kickstarter campaign, for a videogame, from France to date! Umbra is powered by CryEngine 3 and blends the hack and slash game play with state of the art graphics and truly modern AI inspired by the hit classic Diablo 2.
Hero U - Retro inspired RPG Kickstarter success
You may remember some weeks ago that we reported the start of the second round Kickstarter campaign for the spiritual RPG successor to the Quest for Glory series - Hero U, well the campaign is as from this moment a Kickstarter success, raising $110,405 pledged of a $100,000 goal. It was pretty much touch and go in the final days as concerns raised it's head over another failed Kickstarter, but thankfully that was not the case and now we can look forward to playing Hero U in March 2016!

Well that release date for Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 has finally arrived and as from now you can buy this garage based success with all the cars and parts you could ever want on Steam for your PC.
Dungeons of Aledorn - Old School Hardcore RPG Kickstarter success!
What an eye opening day of Kickstarter watching as the hardcore styled RPG 'Dungeons of Aledorn', of which we have featured before, developed by Team 21 is a Kickstarter success. Yet it nearly wasn't so, as within 6 hours of reaching their goal a backer pulled out dropping the amount from 59k to 57k. But thankfully other gamers stepped in made it a Kickstarter success raising over 60k with just hours to go.
Pillars of Eternity - How Obsidian was saved from Bankruptcy
Obsidian Entertainment established in 2003 after the disestablishment of Interplay Productions' Black Isle Studios, released some fantastic games that are still loved to this day. Games such as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights 2 and South Park : The Stick of Truth. However all was not well as Obsidian was very close to being shut down. It was a time of great sadness as emotions were felt throughout the game studio, yet little did they know that their Kickstarter idea of Pillars of Eternity was to change all that and set the path of the company to another high point in it's life raising over 1 million in funding. Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander - Pixelated Sci-fi Kickstarter success!
No sooner had we mentioned Massive Damage Inc's awesome looking pixelated sci-fi game 'Halcyon 6 : Starbase Commander', then in just 40 hours the developers smashed through the Kickstarter goal of $40,000 with $49,124 total being raised so far! Classed as a rogue-like sci-fi strategy survival game, 'Halcyon 6 : Starbase Commander' will now be available for PC & Mac towards the end of 2015. One we are personally proud of featuring and can't wait till it's released!
