By now I'm sure you must've heard legendary C64 games house
Thalamus have returned, and as promised have launched a
cracking Kickstarter project today, to revive their classic back catalog for a new generation. Specifically, the Kickstarter hopes to deliver the official 30th anniversary remaster of classic shoot-em-up Hunter's Moon (Alongside help from Martin Walker (the original programmer). Not only that, but the release will be a physical C64 cartridge version, and Thalamus are going to remaster their entire back catalog in the same way. Enhanced to take advantage of the extended feature set of the cartridge format.
Pledge selections range from £5 to £500 with an exciting set of stretch goals should the target of £12500 be exceeded. Such as extra game modes (random mode, level editor, new ships), manual illustrations from Oli Frey and enhanced packaging features, new music from Matt Gray, who has also contributed copies of forthcoming "Reformation" (
a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign) to go alongside some pledges. Other pledges will bag you the digital soundtrack, a t-shirt, postcards, strategy guides, and even the chance to appear on the high score table and create your own level. Go for the Compendium pledge, you'll get both volumes of the fantastic C64 Visual Compendium by Sam Dyer, which includes my reviews of Slicks and Retrograde.
As if we didn't have enough to look forward to, with C64 Civilization, Sams Journey,
Unknown Realm and many more new releases already in the works. Head over to the Kickstarter page now to make sure you don't miss out on your favourite pledge. And don't forget we have 3 sealed Ms Pacman cartridges as well as 40 Kixx cassettes and Planet Golf goodies from Antony Savona to give away in our
