Amiga owners you could be in for a bit of a treat, as Origin Systems PC classic space combat simulator sequel Wing Commander II could be coming to the AMIGA AGA via AcidBottle. Following recent news regarding community efforts to enhance classic Amiga titles with performance boosts and crucial bug fixes, word spread on Facebook that Electronic Arts had launched remastered versions of the entire Wing Commander series on Steam. This prompted some fans to ask for AI-driven treatment for Wing Commander II, to bring it to the Commodore Amiga. Well it looks like that could be happening, as AcidBottle has answered the call by dropping a major update on a brand-new project titled Wing Commander II Dx.
The newly teased build is based on the comprehensive Deluxe Edition of the game, fully equipped with extra missions and the highly sought-after speech pack. While AcidBottle is currently keeping another major project in a closed beta phase, this particular release has been pushed out to testers as 100% complete, though the developer notes that some bugs may still linger during this beta period. For the time being, the game is packaged exclusively as a WHDLoad installation to ensure smooth compatibility. Amiga owners need to act fast, as the files will only remain hosted online for a few days to gather community feedback and bug reports before links are officially available.
Craig Coope your request is fulfilled! :D
