Axis - Escape the Aliens in this new C64 port from AnyStone Games

The Commodore 64’s library has grown even bigger today with the official release of Axis, a high-stakes "escape" title developed by AnyStone Games. Born from the legacy of Zsolt BertΓ³k’s (Bery) original Videoton TV Computer game of the same name, this modern C64 rendition was crafted using the powerful TRSE (Turbo Rascal Syntax Error) development tool. In a departure from the typical "run-and-gun" action found on the platform, Axis strips the player of all weaponry. There is no shooting or fighting here—our protagonist must rely entirely on speed, timing, and nerves of steel. The objective is simple but daunting: navigate through 10 perilous sectors to find the exit door that can only be opened with the right key card.

Xenomorph AGA - An Alien Breed style top down Aliens game is in development for the Amiga! [UPDATE]

While I was having a nice two day break, I came back to some super duper news for the Amiga! As looking through all the different homebrew forums, and I have found out that at some point in the near future, Juande3050 will be releasing his Alien Breed style Commodore Amiga AGA game of 'Xenomorph'. A redpill developed game that came second during the Posadas 2025 competition. While the game isn't out yet, AmigaFrance(link) was happy to provide the latest details and footage.

Aliens Neoplasma II - The sequel to an amazing game for the ZX Spectrum 128K and ZX Spectrum Next!

It wasn't long ago now that we had the pleasure of playing the awesome game 'Aliens NeoPlasma ' on the Spectrum which was developed by Sanchez crew (Russian Federation); a horror platformer as their own take on the Aliens movie theme complete with friendly face-huggers. Well fast forward to this month however and as a great heads up by β„π• π•¨π•π•’π•Ÿπ••π•€ β„π•–π•§π•šπ•–π•¨π•€@Tezmondo74. Aliens NeoPlasma - A great Aliens themed ZX Spectrum game that should be experienced on a ZX Spectrum Next!

Well fast forward to this month however and as a great heads up by Liqmatrix in our inbox, we've been told this great game has been uploaded to itch.io for both the ZX Spectrum and ZX Spectrum NEXT. Although do be aware these are not NEW games, I just didn't get the chance to feature the NEXT version until now.

Aliens: Neoplasma - An Aliens game arriving on the C64 by Digital Monastery

ZX Spectrum version released 28th Feb

While I was having a nice break this weekend I came back to some super duper news, as we were contacted by Eric Majikeyric that Digital Monastery will be bringing the ZX Spectrum homebrew game of ' Aliens: Neoplasma ' over to the C64. This game originally released in Feb on the speccy by Sanchez Crew, will now be coded by Majikeyric, graphics by ER and music by Mibri, with a top quality release most likely due this year.

Aliens: Neoplasma - Aliens have arrived on the ZX Spectrum!

In terms of retro gaming announcements, we have been blown away this week with news of games such as Rygar AGA, Tenebra Macabre, Dizzy and The Mushrooms Pie, PTM, Redshift and even Moritz to the Moon to keep us company. Well it looks as if there's a bigger shocker of an announcement for today, as we have been told via Facebook that Sanchez crew (Russian Federation)  has released their latest horror platformer Aliens: Neoplasma for the ZX Spectrum!

Organism - Isometric Aliens C64 game is in the works

We've certainly seen some damn fine looking C64 games being teased lately, what with the more recent Argus getting a hearty mention on our website, but there's another C64 game you should be keeping an eye on, and that's Organism by A Volkers and S Collier. Announced in May of this year, this game looks to be a high quality Isometric action game with a strong vibe to that of Aliens.

Aliens - ZX Spectrum retro review by Paul Davies

*Disclaimer - Phil Oakey is not affiliated with this release.
Space - a dark and cold place, where millions of stars decorate the atmosphere. Comets, shooting stars, planets, black holes and possibly Sandra Bullock can be found within it's bleak un-breathable blanket of mini fireballs (stars again). It's amazing really. It's so huge that we will never find out the full extent of it's majesty with it's seemingly non-stop existence. Just imagine yourself floating in space, taking in the enormity in it all, drifting past milky ways (tasty!), planets in the distance and the hazy weightlessness of it all and then argghh.... ALIENS!!!!

Are you ready for not only a great give away by GOG, but also some classic action packed games in a special promo? Then GOG has got you covered with the 'Rise of the Triad 2013 Giveaway' and the 'Silver Bullets Promo'. Both of these specials are action packed as Rise of the Triad is a reboot of one of the most iconic gory shooters, and the Silver Bullets Promo contains some fine shooter classics we all remember such as Aliens Versus Predator 2000, Sin Gold, Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition, Shogo and Unreal Tournament 2004.

Space Ambush +1EJHD - The latest trainer for a classic C64 shooter

It's the weekend and what better way to spend it than playing the latest homebrew titles and or cracked/trainered C64 games. So today we have the Laxity +1EJHD cracked version of 'Space Ambush' to play; a 1986 C64 space shooter with a difference. While travelling through space your rather large space ship is under attack from Aliens, but unlike most shooters of it's era, you have two directional turrets to defend yourself. But that's not all this game has to offer, with Alien attack patterns, asteroid storms and cool bonuses! Certainly a great way to spend a Saturday.

Red Death - A free exploration game that feels like Prometheus

Unlike some people I know, I really enjoyed the movie Prometheus, with it's alien world, large spaceship and strange deadly life forms. So when I happened to come across Red Death by Zeitgeist, it certainly gave me that Prometheus vibe. According to Zeitgeist, Red Death is an exploration game of survival as you partake on a mission to Mars to uncover it's secrets.

Northwards of Roswell - A genetically mutated 3D RTS (Early Development)

I don't often mention games that are this early in development, yet Northwards of Roswell by Juan Gomez has peaked my interest.  When I first read about the game before I actually played it, it reminded me of the game "Genewars" that was first released on the PC by Bullfrog in 1996, which also had genetic mutations and a floating UFO. However when it comes to Northwards of Roswell the game is about aliens on Earth trying to find their way home and has you flying about the landscape beaming up the local wildlife. The developer has also noted that NOR will try to be a mix of XCOM and FTL.

Aliens vs Marine - AvP marine part ( REMAKE ) FPS

This is really looking rather interesting not just for fans of the aliens versus predator games but First Person Shooter players as well. Not much to go on at the moment though it does look damn fine, but any more information will be posted on Indie Retro News as soon we get it !
Here's a snippet from the developer
AVM is not a MOD anymore. Now I'm using freeSDK and I started textures-replacement process (all Doom3 and AvP2010 textures will be replaced with my own textures, which are very close to the original txs. This process is very time consuming.. In these days I'm finishing Derelict level and I started to work on AI (facehuggers will be first), rigging and animating. I'm planning to post a new video with a FIGHT on january or february 2013. Please be patient.
