JOTD is certainly making a name for himself here on Indie Retro News, creating awesome Arcade like conversions of games such as Ms Pacman and Pacman 500, and even the rebuilt & adapted to Amiga AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996 as Supercars 2 AGA. Well here's another JOTD news story for you, as today we have been informed he has released the Amiga game of Amidar500; an arcade conversion of the 1980's classic Amidar which is available to download below.

Well here's another JOTD news story for you, as he has now announced with a WIP teaser video of his upcoming game of 'Amigar'; An arcade conversion of the 1980's classic which is now in development for the Amiga 500 built upon mspacman code base & dev methods.

The Amiga - Could an Amiga mini be coming?

With the resurgance of retro gaming hardware enabling us to play old classics on big TV's with lots of built in games such as the NES Mini, SNES Mini, Playstation 1 Classic, NEO GEO Mini,PC Engine Mini and the C64 Mini you'd be forgiven in thinking there wasn't much else to get excited with all the mini's being announced. Well The C64 crew have something to shout about and in a pretty big way, as today they have teased what looks to be an Amiga mini coming 2021 from RetroGames Ltd!

Fast forward to this year however and the same team as A1200.net are hoping the Amiga 500(+) case crowd funding campaign to be equally successful, but at 96% of a $155,000 goal and just half a day to go, they need all the help they can get to hit that goal.

We are pleased to finally announce it's the Amiga 500's turn, as A1200.net has launched the IndieGoGo campaign for new Compatible A500(+) cases. Basically if you've felt a little left out with the previous campaign, now is your time to bring your Amiga 500 out of its yellow shell with eye candy colours to show off to all your friends... Or just creamy white just as it came out of the show room.

Well most of us have already received those new Amiga 1200 cases much to the delight of the Amiga community, we are still waiting for our keycaps to go with our stunning new case such as black keys to replace yellow. However if you don't have an Amiga 1200 and sitting by your side is an older Amiga 500 model, you'll be pleased to know we've just learnt from Steve through our Facebook group, that a new Amiga 500/+ Case Kickstarter will be announced at some point this year. - So keep watching this space!

Highway Sprint - Rapid racer on the Amiga gets new prototype footage and demo

At the end of last year we came across an announcement via our Commodore Amiga Facebook group of an upcoming racing game that was sure to get your adrenaline going at a rapid rate. This game which was called 'Highway Sprint' and developed by a team of people such as Erik Hogan, Pixel and Simone Bernacchia. Looked to feature non stop racing fun as you race along a road at dangerous speeds while also trying not to crash into other cars. Thankfully if you have seen this game when it was first announced you'll be pleased to know it has been updated with a number of features.

Highway Sprint - Rapid racing Amiga prototype gets a Christmas tease

Raid Over Moscow - 8-bit system classic ported to the Amiga!

In 1985-1986, Access Software and published by US GOLD released the rather difficult but enjoyable action game 'Raid Over Moscow' for the Atari 8-bit, Amstrad CPC, BBC Micro, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and Apple II during the real life cold war era of the 1980's. But now, thanks to Erik Hogan (AKA Earok from the English Amiga Board) he has set about porting this very popular Commodore 64 title over to the Amiga! What's amazing is that he's managed to put all this together for a game development weekend, yes ONE WEEKEND ladies & gentlemen! I don't know about you but I can't finish anything in one weekend.

When I was growing up one of the computers that I strongly remember other than my Amstrad CPC 464 was the 90's Amiga, from the A500 to the A1200 both of them such incredible computers that it pretty much made me the gamer I am today. You would probably have already realized that by now with all the Amiga emulator and game articles that appeared on IRN. So to kick off a rather impressive news announcement from Philippe Lang, from the failed Kickstarter 'New A1200 Computer Housing Project'. It is back on Kickstarter with a new name 'New AMIGA 1200 Cases' and let me tell you, unlike before this has every chance of being a success.

When I was growing up one of the computers that really sticks close to my retro gaming heart was the 90's Amiga, from the A500 to the A1200 both of them such incredible computers that it pretty much made me the gamer I am today. So it would come as no surprise to you I also have many original games plus an original A1200 system ready to be played. But this is where our attention is drawn, to the latest New A1200 Computer Housing Project Kickstarter by Philippe Lang, which is set to take the retro gaming scene by storm!

An SD Card Interface for your Amiga? Oh Yes!

Through all these years of owning an Amiga, especially the ones with internal hard drives such as an original drive or CF, there has always been a few issues which have been a royal pain for certain users. Some of those annoyances is the fact that you either have to use a PCMCIA adapter with SD Card, take the Amiga apart and remove the CF, or there is also the rather expensive ACA500. However this is set to change with Ferix's new hard drive hardware device called the 'SD Card Interface', which plugs into a parallel port of any Amiga!

It's a classic story really: two guys geek it out together in their proverbial garage and deliver something amazing, or at least really interesting, like the Armiga. At its core, the Armiga is about nostalgia. It sets out to recreate the warm fuzzies of playing that most awesome game of yesteryear while taking full advantage of today's sweet hardware. The Armiga intends to give you a fully decked-out classic Amiga 500 in a tiny box. And even though the product is still in the prototype stage, it works quite well!
