GAME SHOT - A Darts game is coming to your Amiga from Wayne Ashworth!

We feature many games on Indie Retro News, from Platformers, to Shooters and from Adventure games to Puzzlers, but one particular genre we don't feature very much of, and that's Sports based games. Well Wayne Ashworth certainly has you covered, as at some point after the release of Scourge of the Underkind, he will be releasing his work in progress game of GAME SHOT; A brand new Darts game coming to an Amiga near you in the near future.

Seven Over Par - Amiga Golf Classics - Unofficial Amiga CD32 Release by Amiga Jay

We've had some very decent unofficial Amiga CD32 compilations so far, from beat em ups to racers and shoot em ups. But now it's time for boring Golf, I err mean ' Seven Over Par - Amiga Golf Classics ' as a September release for the Amiga CD32 by Amiga Jay. As a run up to Christmas with possibly more packs to come, Amiga Jay has released the last of his sports collection for this year and it's packed with games such as, Links (US Gold, 1992), Nick Faldo's Championship Golf (Grandslam, 1993-4), PGA European Tour (Ocean, 1994-5), Ryder Cup (Ocean 1993-94), Sensible Golf (Virgin, 1995), Tournament Golf (Elite, 1990) and World Class Leaderboard Golf (US Gold, 1988)

Papi Commando Tennis IX - Homebrew sport for the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive

To be honest we rarely feature Tennis games, the only ones we've featured so far is Center Court 2 on the Amiga and Novabug's recent Tennis Classics video. But today it's time for Papi Commando Tennis IX by Vetea. A rather impressive looking homebrew game set in the "Commando Universe" for the Sega Genesis and Sega Megadrive that is currently in development and freely available as a play test download.

Combo Pool - Strike the colours and gain a high score in NuSan's free game!

I'm not usually one for sporty games, but NuSan has thrown the original game play of Pool out the window and added in his own Tetris like vibe. This is ' Combo Pool ', a free game made using Pico 8 and a winning entry to p8jam2, in which you need to shoot and match coloured marbles to gain an increasing high score. If the right colours make a connection, they will upgrade and finally give you a seriously cool combo. Just make sure not to have so many balls on the screen at once, because your life force will only last so long!
