Kong - A surprising C64 release from Sputnik World as a recreation of the Panorama Game & Watch 1983 game

Welcome to Donkey Kong Junior, originally released in 1982 for Arcades and later released for home systems such as the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 8-bit , ColecoVision, Coleco Adam, Intellivision, NES and BBC Micro, with a C64 overhauled version released by Mr Sid at the end 2014. In this game you play as Donkey Kong Junior and must rescue your father Donkey Kong who has been imprisoned by Mario in his only appearance as an antagonist in a video game. A sequel to the hit classic, you can now play Sputnik World's version, which is a C64 recreation of the Panorama Game & Watch originally released in 1983.

MARS - A new C64 game from Sputnik World, a mission to MARS!

C64 owners you might have felt a little bit left out today with all that Amiga and C16/Plus/4 news going on, but worry not! As thanks to a hearty heads up from Psytronik Software, they have announced a brand new game coming to the C64 called 'MARS'. Yes indeed it's time for the C64 to shine, as in this upcoming game from Sputnik World, set 50 years after man first set foot on the moon, you must take a bold new leap to visit that big red planet, the planet MARS!

Panzer - Strategy game released by Sputnik World for the C64

Moving away from the platformers and shoot em ups, we now look towards Sputnik World for our C64 goodness. As unlike those genres, this one is a strategy game set in World War 2 called 'Panzer'. This game released just recently, pits your tanks against other tanks as you move around the map area to take control of a multitude of enemy bases to complete the mission.

La Carretera - Hit The Road with a Brand New C64 Adventure Game!

La Carretera (The Road) is a brand new text adventure game for C64. The original version was Spanish only, developed by Rulas International under the Sputnik World label and the hacker group Excess have provided an English version opening it up to a wider audience. This is a short, but fun adventure game, where the usual system of typing commands to move and examining rooms has been replaced by simply choosing from a few options given at the end of each section.

Luna 3 - A chaotic blaster on the C64 by Sputnik World!

Another homebrew game has thrust its way into the year 2017, is the recently released ' Luna 3 ' by Sputnik World on the C64, which has also been trainered by our good friends Onslaught. In this game which I would regard as one of the most chaotic shooters I've played for along time, you must blast your way through as many enemies as possible for an ever high score, to make your way to the colony Luna 3 to destroy the enemy forces. Before you can do that, you must defend Luna 2 which has also just come under attack!

Xain'D Sleena - Arcade final release cracked for C64

Originally released way back in 1986, also known as Soldier of Light and Solor Warrior, Xain'D Sleena has been given the final homebrew release for C64 by Sputnik World. An action arcade shooter with baddies attacking from all sides, you play as Xain, and your mission as a galactic bounty-hunter is to defeat evil forces who oppress five different planets.

Xain'D Sleena - C64 has a new retro remake!

I feel sorry for the Amstrad at the moment as it seems all the latest games coming out are either C64 or ZX Spectrum based, and once again we have another one for the C64, Xain'D Sleena. Released by Sputnik World you play as Xain, who is a galactic bounty-hunter who must defeat the evil forces who oppress five different planets. This is done by traversing the levels while shooting enemies and dodging natural hazards. Although it's a not a bad remake it does need a lot of work and some people who have played it gave it less than positive reviews : unforgiving gameplay, just kept dying, instead of having fun. But still if trying the latest games on your C64 is your thing, give the game a try!
