Slipstream - Retro inspired racer aiming for a Steam Greenlight success

Throughout this year there has been a surge in retro inspired racers that either look like Lotus or the other classic arcade title of Outrun. Games such as Horizon Chase and Red Hot Overdrive certainly come to mind. Today's feature of 'Slipstream' by ansdor, stood out in a crowd of Steam Greenlight games, as not only does it have those colourful visuals of our retro past such as the atmosphere of 80’s and 90’s games like OutRun, Daytona USA, Super Hang-On and Sonic the Hedgehog but it also has a retrotastic soundtrack to boot!

Just like the brilliant racers from the arcades and home computers such as the Amiga, Slipstream is an arcade-style checkpoint racing game across 15 different tracks, while racing against the clock and avoiding traffic and obstacles coming at you at break neck speeds. Furthermore, the developer has said to the community that Slipstream will feature a variety of exotic landscapes, including cities, mountains, forests, beaches and valleys in an old school style Pseudo3D rendering engine, developed specifically for this game.

As such I for one am hugely pumped for this game, it's as if I've just hit the Nitro button and can't stop my excitement! But for those of you wanting to play it now, you are going to have to wait as it's still in very early development and with a possible release of Late 2015.

So lets push those votes for a Steam Greenlight success.
