The Hobbit (Vah-ka's Cut) - A Lord of the Rings fan game for the Amstrad CPC & ZX Spectrum

Take a pinch of Lord of the Rings, add a bit of humor, mash it all up with some retro pixels, and you'll most likely end up with The Hobbit (Vah-ka's Cut), developed by The Mojon Twins for the Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum; a new game in which you must help Bilbo to find the treasure of Smaug without dying. To do this, you will have to do some things and such in a really cool scenario (apparently). To coincide with this news, provided below is the latest gameplay footage by Saberman as well as game details from the website.

The Hobbit 128K Edition - Classic ZX Spectrum adventure gets an overhaul!

In 1982 Melbourne House, developed by Philip Mitchell and Veronika Megler, released 'The Hobbit' for a multitude of systems including the ZX Spectrum, C64, Amstrad CPC, BBC, MSX, Dragon 32 and Oric. It was based on a famous book originally written by J.R.R Tolkien and featured an illustrated text based adventure with commands such as North, East and Look. Although it was a good adventure game and based on a book loved by many, it has now been superseded by the latest announced release of 'The Hobbit 128K edition'; an unofficial overhauled version developed by World of Spectrum.org.
