Xenon 2 Megablast - Manic retro shoot 'em up could be getting a 50fps AGA Amiga edition via mcgeezer!

For those of you who played the shoot em up of Xenon 2 - Megablast on the Amiga in the year of 1989. A game that was developed by The Bitmap Brothers and also released on systems such as the Atari ST, IBM PC, Sega Master System, Sega Mega Drive and Sharp X68000. Then you might be interested in this latest news story that we've come across via the EAB forums. As Mcgeezer looks to be working on a recoded version for the Commodore Amiga. A new version in which he says "I've decided to try and recode Xenon 2 for AGA running at 50FPS".

The Bitmap Brothers Collection - Amiga CD32 owners drooled and got an update!


AmigaJay has just given us the heads up via twitter that one of his best unofficial Amiga CD32 collections ' The Bitmap Brothers Collection ' has recently had a big update! Yes indeed the complete Amiga works which we featured before (here) from one of the greatest developers of our generation; The Bitmap Brothers. With games included such as Cadaver, Cadaver - The Payoff, The Chaos Engine, The Chaos Engine 2, Gods, Magic Pockets, Speedball, Speedball 2, Xenon and Xenon 2 has now been updated to v1.3.

We've just had a real shocker of info in our mail box today, as that incredible shoot em up, ' Xenon 2 : Megablast ' from 1989, is finally available as a pre-order for the Atari Jaguar as a commercial release. Originally designed by those famous developers The Bitmap Brothers, and regarded as one of their most popular games for the Amiga and Atari ST (later ported to other systems), puts you in control of your very own space ship, blasting space monsters, collecting power ups and buying upgrades! A bloody fine game indeed and now Xenon 2 for the Atari Jaguar has the full blessing of Mike Montgomery, and converted over to the Atari Jaguar by Atariage user Cyrano Jones, with a brand new soundtrack by 505!
