Flipull+ - An enhanced and hacked version of Plotting for the Amstrad CPC Plus and GX4000

Amstrad CPC Plus and GX4000 owners might like this latest news story that's just been sent to us by AngelSanchezTWI through Twitter, as if you're looking for a new(ish) game to play right now, then it might be worth checking out SyX and RedAngel's puzzler of Flipull+; a hacked version of Plotting, that now 50 levels taken from the NES version with new background graphics, data compression and other tweaks. 

Bar War - A Tapper clone for your Amstrad CPC by Fitosoft

We've featured the 1983 game of 'Tapper' a number of times now, as not only did it appear as a brilliant Arcade to Amiga conversion by Old_Bob, but it also appeared on the ZX Spectrum as a tapper clone by the name of 'Cobra Laser'. Well as a new Tapper update and not related to the Amiga or the ZX Spectrum. We've been told by both Saberman and XeNoMoRPH, that Fitosoft has released the Amstrad CPC Tapper clone of 'Bar War'. A game in which the creator has said "is another programming exercise using the 8BP library to handle sprites."

A Classic Edition of Magicland Dizzy for the ZX Spectrum by Dr. Titus!

Get ready for many hours worth of retro fun, especially if you are a ZX Spectrum owner or Dizzy fan, as we've recently been informed by Andrew of Yolkfolk.com, of a highly improved Dizzy game for the ZX Spectrum called 'Magicland Dizzy'. As in the words of YolkFolk "Dr. Titus has released a Classic Edition of Magicland Dizzy for the Spectrum. Includes various tweaks, major bug fixes, added music track and an "Added Easter egg, aswell as something else". To coincide with this news, we've got further information about these changes as well as an extra screenshot and video.

Phoenix - 1980's Arcade game by Taito for the Amiga via JOTD gets another AGA update!

As we said before, JOTD has created some amazing conversions/ports over the years. Games such as Moon Patrol, Donkey Kong, Tetris 1200 (AGA), Super Bagman, Galaxian500 and our personal favorite Super Xevious. Well if you've been following all of our updates of JOTD's latest Arcade to Amiga conversion of Phoenix. A 1980's Arcade fixed-screen shooter by Taito, with a later release in 1983 for the Atari 2600. Then as of today you play the latest version via the link below. A new update which now includes an all new AGA mode with new recoloured graphics by Toni Galvez!

The Key - Episode 1 of a new high quality Amstrad point and click adventure!

A great piece of news has just hit our inbox, as we've recently been contacted by XeNoMoRPH, that if you looking for a new Amstrad CPC game with high quality visuals, then make sure to check out Pakete Soft's Spanish adventure title of 'The Key - Episode 1'. A new game that the creators have said, "is a point and click adventure with different puzzles and escape room riddles that is only suitable for experienced players". To coincide with this news, XeNoMoRPH has also provided a video showing these fantastic visuals found in the game.

Innsmouth - A Lovecraft horror as a new Adventure game for your ZX Spectrum

We've been checking out the latest games and we think we've come across a game that will not only suit those of you who love horror, but also for fans of the famed horror writer H.P Lovecraft. Titled as 'Innsmouth', this latest game by Bitfans, is a brand new ZX Spectrum 48k and 128k Adventure! An English and Spanish Lovecraft game in which you are to delve into the dark tale of a coastal town plagued by hidden secrets and indescribable horrors. Hell Tank - A chaotic blaster for the ZX Spectrum 128k by Fransouls

With the amount of awesome games we've featured this month you'd think I'd take a break, but not so! As thanks to another heads up by a good friend of ours, we've been told that Fransouls has released on itch io the rather chaotic shooter game of 'Hell Tank' for the ZX Spectrum. A game in which playing as the Hell Tank, you must blast away enemy forces such as Helicopters, Sea based transport, and even the odd flying bomber through 25 levels! To coincide with this news, provided below is a video of the game by Saberman.

2005 Mobile game 'Doom RPG' comes over to the Amiga 1200 and above

Here we are with another special announcement, as if any of you remember the 2005 mobile phone game of 'Doom RPG'; a game developed by Fountainhead Entertainment combining the Doom first-person shooter franchise with role-playing video game elements. Then as of today you'll be able to play the first version of Szilárd Biró/BSzili's port of Doom RPG on your Amiga! Although going by some of the replies on the EAB forums, there's a few issues that may need ironing out.

Prince of Persia has been converted over to the Commodore Vic-20 and it's well worth a play!

Another interesting story for you all, as we have just been told by VIPER's Retrogame videos, that the all time classic platformer of 'Prince of Persia'; a game which was released for many different systems back in 1989 by Broderbund. As well as a more recent homebrew port for both the Atari XL/XE and Sega Mega Drive. Has been converted over to the Commodore Vic-20 by Pedro Bermejo! As in the words of Viper "Released in 2024, a conversion of the game for the fully expanded VIC-20 (+35k, PAL only), inspired by the ZX Spectrum version, albeit with some differences".

Turrican - An all time classic game gets another tease for the MSX1 by TheGeps!

If you've been following of all our articles in relation to the work in progress Turrican for the MSX by TheGeps, Bitcaffe and Toni Galvez, then you'll be pleased to know that as of today, the team behind the game have provided some new work in progress footage. For those of you that haven't heard of this all time classic before. Turrican was originally released in 1990 by Rainbow Arts and programmed by Manfred Trenz with an incredible soundtrack by Chris Huelsbeck. The game featured great shooting action, powerful weaponry and amazing game play that is still loved to this day.

Genesis - A rather cool Arcade Shoot 'em up for the ZX Spectrum by Retroworks

Retroworks are a group of very talented European programmers who make some excellent games for some of our favourite retro computers including the Spectrum, Msx and Amstrad cpc. The Arcade Shoot 'em up 'Genesis' for the ZX Spectrum 128k is certainly no exception! A game which sees you traversing lots of challenging levels, while blasting away many waves of enemies, and even an end of level boss. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video of the game which was released some time ago... Just not featured here until today.

The 8-Bit Wars - A new game from Luca Bordoni and team for the ZX Spectrum

Thanks to Saberman contacting us this afternoon through Facebook, we've been told that Luca Bordoni and team has released the arcade ZX Spectrum game of 'The 8-Bit Wars'. A game in which you play as the adventurer Bob Smith, on a personal mission to to put a stop to the evil computer bugs that have raided the Galactic Computer Museum. To coincide with this news, we've also got another screenshot and gameplay footage of The 8-Bit Wars below.

Cats 'n Critters - A new family friendly game for the C64 by NellyByte Software

If you are looking for a family friendly game with cats as the main characters, and can be played by one to two players , then you might like this latest Commodore 64 game from NellyByte Software called ' Cats 'n Critters ' : A game in which you play as Maple and Button, and must rid your garden of menacing critters that have invaded your home. To coincide with this news, Saberman has sent us some gameplay footage.

Kazik in the Underworld of Tema - Kazik and the Ghosts enhanced comes to the C64

We have just found out through Saberman that there has been a new release of a game called 'Kazik in the Underworld of Tema'. Although details are sparse about the game, all we can tell is not only does it look like Roland on the Ropes, but it seems to be an enhanced version of a game known as KAZIK AND THE GHOSTS. A game which was released for the COMMODORE 16 and PLUS/4 in 1986. Although I was unsure what to write up about this one, thankfully the video provided by Saberman made the game worth writing up.

Kondi Krush - Candy Crush comes to the Commodore Amiga, C64 and Plus/4


We've featured a number of great match'up games on Indie Retro News, games such as The Return of Traxtor and Vegetables Deluxe to name but a few. But now after searching the very depths of the gaming scene, we've found out that the 2012 game of 'Candy Crush', which was released by King for modern systems. Has been converted over to the Commodore Amiga as well as the C64 and Plus/4 by AnyStone and team with the name of 'Kondi Krush'. To coincide with this news, we've got some footage of the Amiga version provided by Saberman.

EL BIGOTUDO - This new game release looks stunning for the ZX Spectrum 128k!

We've just been told through our ZX Spectrum Facebook group, that authors Romancha, Jerri, MmcM, Shadow Maker and Oscar Martin Garcia have released the stunning looking ZX Spectrum 128k game of 'EL BIGOTUDO'. A game in which other sites such as planetsinclair, have said it mixes it up with a bit of Dan Dare and Alienation as a serious candidate for Game of the year 2024. To coincide with this news, we've got a new screenshot and footage of the game viewable below.

Auto Amy - A new puzzle game released for the Amstrad CPC by EgoTrip

Another homebrew this week and following the same genre of a puzzler, as we were recently informed via Saberman through Facebook, that EgoTrip has released his latest game of 'Auto Amy'; a tile moving puzzle game that can be played on any Amstrad CPC. To coincide with this news, while there's not much to go on, here's a little bit more info about the game as well as a video of the game below.

Penguin Attack - A great Arcade game released by Pat Morita Team for the ZX Spectrum


Thanks to another heads up from Saberman, we've been told that Pat Morita Team who behind games such as Vampire Slayer, Ninjakul 2, Shovel Adventure and the brilliant Arcade like conversion of Tokimal for the ZX Spectrum. Has released the brand new ZX Spectrum game of Penguin Attack. A high quality and fun for all the family Arcade game in which you have to throw snowballs at Penguin's and Octopus's for a high score. Spinning Image - A 50 level puzzle game released by Carleton Handley for the C64

If you love playing puzzle games, then you might like to play this new game by Carleton Handley called 'Spinning Image' for the Commodore 64. As in the words of the creator, "Spinning Image is a game where you gradually build up the image on the playfield to match the solution on the right of the screen. Blocks must be placed onto the board as well as being removed to help build up to completion". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a gameplay video below.

Henry’s Castle - A nostalgic Journey Back to Childhood Gaming on the C64 by Roman Werner

Considering it's April 1st, pretty much every new game announcement today would probably be an April Fools joke. But while the developer is adamant it isn't. Roman Werner will be releasing as of May 1st 'Henry's Castle' for the C64. As in the words of the website "In a nostalgic homage to the golden era of gaming, a team of passionate developers spanning from Switzerland and Germany proudly announces the upcoming release of Henry's Castle. This spiritual successor to the beloved classic Henry's House by Chris Murray, originally launched in 1984 for the Commodore 64 and Atari XE/XL".

Hypernoid Zero - This Cybernoid game looks amazing on the Amstrad CPC


If you had a ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, C64, NES or Amiga, chances are you would've played ' Cybernoid '; a shoot 'em up published in 1987 by Hewson Consultants that is regarded by many as a great game with fabulous music by Jeroen Tel or Jochen Hippel (ST). Well if you do remember playing it back in the 80's, then you might be interested to know that as of right now, you can try play Hypernoid Zero by Bitplane Technomantes: A very high quality Amstrad CPC game which is inspired by that classic of Cybernoid.
