Gorgeous ZX Spectrum Art Work - Part 2
At the beginning of this year, we featured in our opinion some of the best ZX Spectrum artwork, that was re-created by many different talented artists. Many of the designs were either from original games given a touch up, or completely redesigned to look far more impressive and gorgeous to the eye. But to my shock, the article ended up so popular that our Facebook and Twitter feed was shared multiple times. So it is with great pleasure to announce our second listing of favourite ZX Spectrum images, with one of them being Privet by r0bat, which is shown above (link).
The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim - The ultimate graphics and mod tutorial!
Something different for a new weekend and one I thought I'd never be mentioning on Indie Retro News, is a Skyrim mod install guide. Now yes I know Skyrim is an AAA title, so that's against what this site is about, but mods themselves are pretty unique and are created from individual people flowing with their own ideas and creativity, something we support a lot. I mean hey I play Skyrim nearly every month, but the problem is finding the right mods to install, how to install them and dealing with any issues that will at some point crop up. When it all works, Skyrim looks beautiful and can give the wow factor, but finding the right guide to get to that point can be as bad as finding a needle in a haystack, at least until now. A person by the name of PredCaliber as done a near two hour Skyrim install guide, from graphical changes and overhauls such as an ENB right up to the ultimate Character mods. It is in fact, the definite guide and one we highly support!
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon imagined on the Commodore 64!
Majami Hiroz is back with another C64 styled imagining of a modern game, the same creator of those YouTube videos of GTA: Vice City & Watch Dogs but in a complete C64 look. This time however Majami has gone one step further and turned Ubisoft's first person game Far Cry 3 : Blood Dragon into a Commodore 64, 1985 visual feat. If you wanted to know what Far Cry 3 would look like on a C64, then this will show you exactly that!
Fantasy Soundtrack Project - Skyrim gets a much needed musical overhaul
Don't get me wrong I love Skyrim. I love playing it and modding it, and even though it is an AAA title, there are many modders out there working hard pushing the details to new heights. Yes we are Indie/Retro related, but modders are independent and many of them get our respect. But the mod that blew me away out of all of them was "The Fantasy Soundtrack Project". A soundtrack, musical overhaul by aceeqmodding that I'd highly recommend for all of you Skyrim owners. "Fantasy Soundtrack Project" provides 700+ minutes (10+ hours) of new music for TESV: Skyirm. 195+ orchestral and instrumental fantasy/epic music tracks for exploring, towns, taverns and castles.
