HeliCommander - Action game inspired by Choplifter coming to the Atari 8-bit

The above screenshot might not like much (it is only from a 240p video the developer uploaded), but this is the first tease for a new game peteym5 is developing called ' HeliCommander ' inspired by the arcade version of Choplifter and the Activision game Chopper Command. According to peteym5 this side scrolling shooting game will be coming to the Atari 400/800/XL and XE and will be available on cartridge, with system requirements of a standard Atari 8-bit computer. It does not use RAM under ROM so it will work on a 48K 400/800 or a 16K stock 600XL.

Lost In Space - Atari 8bit up to 4 player release!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to 2016. I'd also like to say a huge thank you to Dan Thoresen, Godfrey'john Sheridan, Matthias Loges, Ryan Simister and D King who helped us out into next year and possibly beyond! But enough about that it's a new game time, and this one comes directly from Sijmen Schouten (Mr-Atari) with his new game ' Lost in Space ' that's now available for all Atari 8-bit computers!

Jumpman Forever - A very classic platformer for the modern era (Kickstarter)

Game Type : Retro Platformer
Kickstarter Goal : $20,000
Developer, Project By : Davis Ray Sickmon, Jr
Game Info Quote : We're bringing back Jumpman into a totally new set of truly old-school style video-game.  Now, if you're familiar with classic video games, there's a good chance you've played Jumpman on a Commodore 64, Atari 400/800, IBM PC (including the Jumpman Lives! remake), Apple ][, or maybe one of the modern re-releases on the C64 TV setup or in the Wii's Virtual Library if you were in the UK. The core of Jumpman was a combination of a solid control system and puzzle based gameplay. Every level was a different set of challenges, ranging from just dodging the bullets, to malfunctioning robots, vampire bats, falling bombs, moving bombs, disintegrating platforms, to invisible levels who's layouts you have to discover.  For those who are modern gamers, it requires the intelligent gameplay levels of Portal, while maintaining the old-school 2D twitch requirements of games like Donkey Kong.
Release : Early 2014
Systems : PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Ouya
