Neohabitat - A relaunch of the first MMORPG, originally dev'd for the C64!

Many of you probably didn't know this (I know I didn't) but in 1986 LucasArts, with development by Randy Farmer and Chip Morningstar, released a beta of the massively multiplayer online RPG of ' Habitat ' for the C64; a first attempt at a large scale commercial virtual community that was graphic based. Each person in this large world had to have a C64 and had to be able to connect via a modem and telephone, which for many probably caused very high phone bills. And on that note today's news is something pretty special, as The Museum of Digital Art and Entertainment have released Neohabitat - a relaunch of the first massively mulitplayer online roleplaying game, Lucasfilm's Habitat.

SCUMM-8 - Adventure classic Maniac Mansion demake on the Pico-8? It's possible!

Throughout the years we have always been impressed by what can be achieved with the Pico-8; a complete 2D game creation environment [code, sprite, map, SFX and music editors] for making games with very tight restrictions and more especially on the PocketCHIP miniature computer, which ships preloaded with the Pico-8 software. But now we are going to show you something special, an Easter treat if you will, as a "demake" of the SCUMM engine that powered most of the classic LucasArts adventure games, such as Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion has been released as ' SCUMM-8', on the Pico-8!

The Dig - LucasArt's hit adventure game, gets a HD intro remake!

In 1995 LucasArts released the amazing adventure game ' The Dig ' for both the PC and Macintosh systems. It was an all time classic game, with some interesting, though occasionally frustrating puzzles, a full digital orchestral score, some pretty solid writing, and a full voice-acting cast, such as from Robert Patrick and Steven Blum. It was also full of sci-fi goodness, with an immersive alien landscape and using the SCUMM game engine, that even today is a highly prized collectors item. So if you haven't played the game you are seriously missing out! But before you do, make sure to check out the brand new THE DIG - Intro remake at 1080p/60fps from rickonami.

On the topic of Adventure games of which we have been featuring these last few days, it may be worth your time checking out the latest demo for ' Dexter Stardust - Adventures in Outer Space: Night of the Hollow Moon ', developed by SeaMonsterMedia which is fully voice acted in a retro campy sci-fi style. As they call it, a classic point and click adventure game with lots of witty charm that harks back to the days of the 90's Lucasarts era.

Full Throttle Remastered - Classic Motorbike LucasArts Adventure overhaul coming 2016-17!

After a really tedious weekend so far with some poor weather thrown in as well, late Saturday has ended with an Adventurous bang from Double Fine Productions. Not only did we learn of the remaster for Day of the Tentacle, but they have also announced another all time classic game which stars none other than the famous Motorbike riding Ben from the 1995 graphic adventure game by LucasArts! That's right, it's ' Full Throttle ' which will be given a graphical remaster just like Day of the Tentacle, on both the PS4 and PlayStation Vita with a release date of 2016-17. As of yet we are not sure if it will come to the PC, but I'm sure it will.

Grim Fandango Remastered - An acclaimed adventure classic on GOG!

What a great day today as GOG has just informed us that Grim Fandango Remastered has now appeared on GOG for pre-order priced at £9.29. Grim Fandango was first released way back in 1998 as a dark comedy noir adventure that became one of the most critically acclaimed adventure games of all time. It was also LucasArts first adventure to use 3D graphics on pre-rendered, static backgrounds, and the fact it had a great story and interesting puzzles!

Day of the Tentacle - An adventure classic unofficial remake in the works!

So it's with great pleasure to announce that the 1993 hit classic "Day of the Tentacle" is getting an unofficial remake!

Forge - Adventure fan-made sequel to LucasArts, Loom

Adventure fans rejoice! A fan made sequel to Loom, LucasArts’ 1990 adventure-game masterpiece is in development and this looks to amaze the fan base of any LucasArts adventure gamer. Apparently Loom was supposed to have been followed by two additional stories, each following a different protagonist; but these games were sadly never made. Thus feeling the love lost, the team behind this fan based sequel, hope to carry on the story in the same vintage pixel-art style of the early 1990s.
