Project X : Light Years - A cool Amiga Shoot em up by Team 17 gets a modern PC reimagining by MK Games

One of the coolest Shoot em ups I can remember, wasn't the all time classic R-Type, but Team 17's Project-X, which was not only released on the Amiga in 1992, but later ported to MS-DOS. It was a game that had great graphics, sound and awesome wave blasting enemies that not only featured wicked weaponry, but cool powerups such as the voiced "speed up". So if you remember this game that in my opinion deserves to be in a collection, you'll be pleased to know that as of today you can download MK Games 'Project X : Light Years'.  A modern reimagining of the classic available through Steam.

Standard Deviation 2017 - A cancelled shoot em up finally surfaces on the Amiga

In 1994 Enertia Developments with publishing rights by CoSoft was set to release the Project-X clone shoot em up ' Standard Deviation ' for the Amiga with an enhanced version planned for the Amiga 1200 and CD32. At the time it was due to be released with 6 levels, each with different scenarios, parallax backgrounds and of course weaponry effects with inclusive powerups. But sadly the game never appeared as it was cancelled, and it wasn't until now the Author published the game on the EAB forums with a Trainer release thanks to our friends Flashtro.

An Amiga week full of surprises! - Mr Nutz, Team 17 and WinUAE

It's always the way isn't it, whenever you take time off either through illness or like last week a much needed break, along comes a news story that makes you feel a bit down beat that you didn't get it done. So what better way to make up for that, than to mention not just one Amiga news story, but three! An Amiga CD32 release from Earok and team ' Mr Nutz ', Team 17 : The Complete Amiga Works by AmigaJay, and a new Amiga emulator beta version ' WinUAE 3.3.0 beta 11 ' from Toni Wilen.
